It’s Black Friday — which means many of you woke up at the crack of dawn (or were up all night) shopping for all the latest deals and steals. Good for you! I hope you’re having lots of fun — say ‘hi’ to my sister and my mom for me!
I, on the other hand, will be hiding under the covers with Nora until the holiday traffic dies down!
As I mentioned several weeks ago, we decided to send out Thanksgiving cards this year. We have so much to be thankful for — it just seemed fitting.
Happy Thanksgiving friends!
Have you ever dreaded cleaning your oven — particularly this time of year after lots of holiday cooking and baking?
I can totally relate — which is why I’m excited to share a new (super easy) oven cleaning product with you today!
Yes, you read the title of this post correctly. Andrea Dekker is telling you that it’s OK if your life is stressed and crazy! Well, kind of 🙂
Keep reading for my thoughts on why it’s probably OK if your life is a little crazy for the next 6 weeks…
Get ready for some cute Nora pictures in today’s post… because our sweet, spunky, sassy, “siwwy” (silly), big blue-eye girl is TWO… going on 22.
Can you believe it!
One of my favorite Thanksgiving side dishes (right up there with stuffing and applesauce) is super moist, homemade cornbread. It just makes the meal if you ask me.
If you’re looking for a REALLY easy, “tastes-like-it’s-from-scratch” cornbread recipe — you’ll want to give this one a try!
It’s official — Nora’s new play kitchen is finished! I’m super happy with how the finished product turned out — so much cuter than I ever thought, and so much like a real kitchen.
I had so much fun working on this project and I’m super excited to share the before / after photos with you today!

In the spirit of the Thanksgiving season, I’ve been thinking a lot about everything I personally have to be thankful for — it’s a lot in case you were wondering!
So today, I’m sharing how a new parenting perspective helped me see a few things in a different light — and be much more thankful for my sleepless nights and fussy toddler.
In an effort to jump-start the generous spirit of the holiday season, I thought I’d share some of my thoughts about holiday giving along with a few ideas we can all give back this season.
I’d also love to hear some of your favorite ways to give back — both during the holiday season and all year long.
A couple weeks ago, I asked for recommendations on a really good chicken lasagna recipe via my Facebook page — and I got a whole bunch!
So since I obviously wasn’t going to make multiple different lasagnas just for Dave and myself, I took pieces of the different recipes (using the ingredients I had on hand) to try a brand new recipe. The results were so delicious — even Nora gobbled it up!
With our family expanding in a few months, we decided it was also time to “expand” our living area. So we’re in the middle of a bunch of renovations upstairs.
Today I’m sharing a bunch of before pictures, a few progress pictures, and some of my ideas for the finished rooms!
It’s been a little over 3 years since I started my blog — and I can definitely say that I’ve learned a lot, I’ve grown a lot, and I’ve had a lot of fun along the way.
Today I’m sharing 3 things that helped me get into my blogging grove, grow my traffic, AND (most importantly) really enjoy the process.
Over the past several months, it’s become very apparent that Nora LOVES doing crafts… so last week, I decided that my old method of storing and organizing our limited craft supplies needed a toddler-friendly update.
Within 45 minutes, I created a new (and very simple) craft corner in our kitchen — perfect for doing crafts at the kitchen table!
Today I’m piggy-backing off the really fun Clutter-Free Gift series I ran last year, and sharing some of my favorite creative AND clutter-free gifts for almost anyone on your holiday shopping list this year.
Of course, I’d love to hear your favorite clutter-free gifts as well!
Dave and I love casseroles — especially in the cooler fall and winter months when warm leftovers for lunch the next day really hit the spot!
Today, I’m sharing a super simple casserole recipe — AND a casserole-making tip I use regularly to reduce the number of dirty dishes I need to wash and reduce the amount of time it takes me to get dinner on the table. Win, win!
I’m back with a few more of my favorite things for November… and I definitely think some or all of these ideas would make fabulous holiday gifts for those of you planning ahead!
As always, I’d love to hear about some of your favorite things in the comments too!
