Today is Dave and my 8-year anniversary!
So in honor of our 8 years together, I’m sharing 8 frugal (or free) date ideas — many of which won’t even require a babysitter.
Last week, I was on a mission to use up a bunch of the stock-pile in our freezer and pantry — and in the process, I came up with a new favorite dessert recipe involving 2 of Dave’s favorite ingredients: Chocolate and Peanut Butter!
The results were pretty darn good if you ask me — the perfect combination of smooth, crunchy, salty and sweet!
The 80/20 rule states that we use and wear 20% of our things about 80% of the time — which means we rarely use and wear the other 80%. But don’t worry, I’m not going to persuade you to purge it all!
However, I do think there is A LOT we can learn by taking a closer look at the 20% of things we regularly use — and then utilize that information to help us declutter and simplify our lives.
Have you ever wondered if a Costco membership (or other wholesale store membership) was right for you?
Today, I’m sharing 9 different ways you can shop (and save) at Costco without a membership — which might give you the opportunity you need to test the waters and see if a membership is worth the price.
Whenever I do a post about freezer cooking, I usually get at least a few questions asking how I make room for all the food in my freezer and how I manage to have enough baking pans for all that food.
Surprisingly, my answers to both questions are exactly the same — and that’s what I’m talking about today!
Over the past 3+ years, I’ve shared a number of DIY cleaning products here on the blog; however, I’ve never shared a recipe for DIY laundry detergent because I couldn’t find a recipe I actually liked.
That all changed a couple months ago — so today, I’m sharing my new favorite DIY laundry detergent. It works fabulously, it’s really easy to make, it’s quite frugal, and it makes a huge batch!
Remember all those goals I set back in January? Well today, I’m sharing an update on my progress…
About a month ago, a blog reader emailed me asking for time management tips as she felt like she never had enough time to give 100% to everything she was doing. She admitted she had a lot on her plate, but like so many of us, she loved everything she did and didn’t want to give up any of it.
Today’s post shares my response along with my own thoughts on giving 100%.
Today is my birthday!
And instead of giveaways or any other fancy, celebratory post, I’m sharing something that has been on my mind a lot lately. It also just so happens to fit perfectly with this special day.
I’m FINALLY sharing the results from the blog survey I asked you to take way back in February. I learned so much from that survey and was blown away by all your kind, generous, and encouraging responses. Thank you!
I had a little (OK, a lot) of fun making a few graphs and charts to outline the results… some of which might surprise you!
Last week, I shared some of the progress (and the plans) for our mudroom project. We still have several things to cross of our “mudroom to-do list”, but we’re already gearing up for our 2nd project of the summer… a new deck!
Or maybe I should say, “replacing our old, tiny, unusable deck with a brand new, much larger deck”. I’m sharing those plans today!
Have you ever noticed a gross smell coming from your sink — or, more likely, from your garbage disposal?
Today, I’m sharing a SUPER simple recipe for garbage disposal cleaning tabs that’s basically free and uses ingredients you most likely have in your pantry!
As a very experienced Craigslist buyer, I’ve had my fair share of “are you kidding me?” reactions after arriving to buy what I THOUGHT was going to be a great bargain. Thankfully, those experiences are getting fewer and farther between as I’ve learned a lot about asking the right questions.
Today, I’m sharing a list of questions you can ask to hopefully save yourself some time and gas money when shopping on Craigslist.
Over the last few months, our entire family has enjoyed using Netflix with our ChromeCast as we can now watch our favorite shows when and where it’s convenient for us.
These two services have totally transformed the way we watch TV… and today, I’m sharing some of our favorite features of using Netflix with ChromeCast.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve shared bits and pieces of the progress we’re making in our new mudroom — but today, I’m sharing a lot more details, photos, plans, etc. Aren’t you excited? 🙂
Right now, we’re waiting for the drywall guy to come and “mud” the seams — then it’s ready for us to paint, trim, and lay new floors!
Simon is 3 months old! He’s rolling over, drooling like crazy, sharing lots of smiles, and sleeping really well! Such a sweet little boy.
Today I’m sharing a few more of my favorite things — one of which I can NOT believe hasn’t made my list yet!
