I know there are many of you out there struggling to get started on a house project, an organizing project, a landscaping project, a picture project, etc. because you don’t have the time or the energy to do it exactly the way you want to do it.
I completely understand how that feels… however, I also know that it can’t hurt to just get started. You might find that “done” = “good enough”. That’s how it usually works for me 🙂
Impulse purchases can do a number on your budget — not to mention adding excess clutter to your home if you don’t have the space to store your new items.
So as the holiday shopping season approaches, I thought I’d share a few guidelines I follow to avoid impulse purchases. I’d love to know if you have anything to add to my list!
I smiled the entire time I sat writing this post — I hope you smile as you read it.
Thanks for journeying with me on the rocky road of motherhood… slowly but surely, I’m finding my way 😉

Today’s recipe definitely fits the bill for super simple, family-friendly, and budget-friendly — and although I’m often told that meatloaf is just too much work, I almost guarantee that you can get this meal on the table with less than 15 minutes of hands-on work.

Although our lawn is far from perfect, we have worked really, REALLY hard to keep our very large, grass-dominated lawn looking nice.
We have spent many hours growing, caring for, and maintaining our lawn, and today (per your numerous requests) I’m sharing what we’ve learned over the last 8 summers of grass-growing.
Since I’m often asked (both by readers and other bloggers) how I’ll know when, if ever, it’s time to hang up my keyboard, close down the blog, and move on with my life, I thought I’d share my super simple answer in today’s post.
But don’t worry, I’m not planning to go anywhere any time soon 🙂

I’ve been striving to live simply and to be more organized for as long as I can remember and I’ve been blogging about it for 4 years now.
However, it just recently occurred to me that although “living simply” is an extremely popular topic in today’s society, my real life simple choices are not always equally as popular.
Last week, two different people emailed me asking for advice on clutter-free gifts for kids.
So, in honor of the fact that today marks 100 days until Christmas (yes, you read that right!), and the fact that I’m a huge advocate for completing at least some holiday shopping nice and early, I’m sharing a few of my favorite clutter-free gifts for kids.
I know from personal experience that clothes clutter is hard! However, I can also share from personal experience that paring my wardrobe down to the items I actually wear (and love) has been extremely liberating.
So how can you finally ‘bite the bullet’ and purge the clothing you no longer need, use, wear, or love? Keep reading!
I’m so excited about today’s giveaway — partially because I know how much this bag has helped me to simplify and organize getting out and about with 2 little kids (something that is otherwise VERY stressful for me). But also because the PacaPod bags are WAY more than “just” diaper bags.
They are stylish everyday bags that work for anyone in any season of life for almost any on-the-go destination!
I can’t do a full week of clothes clutter posts without dedicating one (LONG) post to kids clothes!
Yes, their clothes are small — but boy can they quickly get out of control and consume massive amounts of storage space in our homes if we don’t have some sort of system in place.
Thankfully, I have lots to say on this topic as well 🙂
In honor of my week-long clothes clutter series and my ridiculously frugal nature, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to talk about the many ways I’ve managed to get completely free clothing for both me and my kids.
If you’ve ever hesitated to update your wardrobe because you felt it wasn’t in your budget (yes, I can relate), this post is definitely for you!
After countless hours of purging, and shopping, and trying on clothes, and buying, and ordering, and taking pictures, and writing, and editing, I am ecstatic to FINALLY be able to share this post with you…
My new super comfy, super cute, super low maintenance, mix ‘n match wardrobe!!!!!!

Although Dave and I really love saving a bunch of money on DIY projects, there have been many times over the past 8 years when we’ve eagerly opted to shell out our hard-earned cash to pay a pro to do the dirty work for us.
So when have we opted to pay the pros? Keep reading to find out!
