We live in Michigan… more specifically, West Michigan. This means we have pretty nasty winters, thanks to “lake effect” snow, sleet, and ice that blasts our area ALL winter long.
Because of this, I’ve come up with a pretty good list of “car essentials” that I keep in my vehicle at all times — and a few extra items for winter and summer. Today, I’m sharing that list!
In case you can’t tell by the title of this post — I’m super excited to be offering you yet another chance to win a BabyBjörn Bouncer (one of my most-loved baby essentials of all times!)
Even more exciting, this giveaway is for one of the brand new, exclusive Dots patterned bouncers that are just way too cute. This would be the perfect gift for any new parent, parent-to-be, or parent of young children!
After 3+ weeks of frigid temperatures and lots of snow, soup has been in regular rotation on our weekly menu plan — and a couple weeks ago, the ONLY soup I really wanted to make was Vegetable Beef.
Thankfully, I had a bunch of veggies to use up… and 20 minutes later, my soup was simmering! Yes, in less than 20 minutes, you can have this simple, from-scratch soup simmering on your stove too!
Although I absolutely adore Nora’s curls, her hair is snarly, hard to comb, and a pain to control. Add in the fact that she doesn’t love any amount of water on her face or head, and you can imagine how difficult it is to wash her hair — let alone use conditioner to control the frizz and snarls!
Enter my free, 20-second, DIY Hair Detangling Spray (a.k.a. “magic spray”) and we’ve almost eliminated the hair brushing battles at our house!
Over the last few months, many of you have requested a day-in-the-life post, and I suppose it has been a couple years already… so I’m due for an update!
While no 2 days are ever exactly alike (can you relate), here’s what a relatively normalish weekday looks like in our house.
I recently discovered that in over 4 years of blogging, I have yet to share my most favorite, super delicious, tastes like you spent all day in the kitchen brownies (that just so happen to start with a boxed mix!)
If you like chocolate, caramel, and ‘easy’, you’ll LOVE these brownies!
Last month, I shared that one of my current favorite things is the Yes To Intense Repair Hand Cream — the stuff is amazing!
So obviously, I was excited when ePantry.com asked if I wanted to offer my readers a FREE Yes To Hand Cream plus $10 off plus free shipping! Keep reading to learn how to get this special time-sensitive offer!!
I realize we need to use caution and take proper steps to protect and secure our online information (especially when it comes to our children), but overall, I personally feel that the Internet is an amazing tool that has helped me to improve, simplify, and better my life.
I (literally) can’t imagine life without it — and today, I’m sharing 5 reasons why!
It’s been over 3 years since I last shared any update on our home office renovations… and we’ve made a fair amount of changes over those 3 years. So, I figured it was time for another Home Office Tour.
I can’t wait for you to see the transformation!!
This time of year, I always rekindle my friendship with my box of baking soda. Not for baking, or cleaning, or freshening — although those are all excellent uses for baking soda.
I use baking soda to soften my skin, to soothe my hands, to scrub my face, and, in general, to simplify my beauty routine!
Most of you know that I am NOT a foodie. I’ve always been somewhat intimidated by the thought of making a food or healthy-living goal because that’s just not “my thing”.
However, by keeping things REALLY simple and focusing on a couple very specific (yet do-able) changes to incorporate into my current diet, I haven’t felt even the slightest twinge of panic or intimidation — and I’m excited to share my 2 new healthier habits with you today!
For several months now, I’ve been on the look-out for a lettuce salad that can be made ahead (without wilting) and enjoyed as leftovers (without getting soggy). I didn’t think I would ever find a recipe… until last month!
Not only can this salad be made ahead and enjoyed for days, it can also be made from pretty much any salad-type ingredients you have in the house — oh, and it tastes amazing!
Even before we had kids, I was no stranger to the fact that kids clothing was a large source of clutter in so many homes. And while I understand why parents choose to hold onto their baby and kid clothing, I personally have tried extremely hard to limit the amount of clothing I store AND the amount of clothing I let myself buy in the first place.
Today, I’m sharing 8 tips I’ve used save time and money buying, sorting, washing, and storing kids clothing.
In my experience, there seems to be a very distinct difference between people who rarely ever get ahead financially (no matter how much they make) and people who seem to effortlessly grow their savings account (no matter how little they make).
Today I’m sharing that difference… and my FREE downloadable 2015 Finance-Tracking Workbook — that should help you simplify your money-management goals this year!
Today I’m sharing some Dekker family updates from our Christmas break, as well as the last month or so.
I’m also sharing Simon’s 10-month photos and update — all jam-packed into one post since I have so many other ideas and blog posts to share with you this month!!
Over Christmas break, I resurrected an “oldie but goodie” recipe that I hadn’t made in ages.
Not only does this recipe have SUPER simple ingredients, take minutes to throw together, and taste great as leftovers, it’s also a really easy meal for kids to help prepare.
Since I took over a week off from the blog between Christmas and New Years (more on that later this week) I ALMOST decided to skip my Favorite Things post this month. But since I have a bunch of favorites to share with you again, I decided that I’d figure out a way to pack everything in!
