It’s so soft, cheesy, gooey, and delicious — not to mention it takes less than 30 minutes from the time I pull the ingredients out of the fridge until food is on the table!

Easy Chocolate Covered Banana “Popsicles”

My kids love any type of frozen treat (especially during hot summer months). And while we do have some popsicles, ice cream sandwiches, and freeze pops, I also freeze gogurts, we make our own juice and pudding pops, AND I’ve started making chocolate covered banana pops (and bites) — which the kids think are so fantastic.

If you’re looking for a frugal, simple, delicious summer treat — give these a try!!!

Taco Casserole {Kids in the Kitchen}

Taco casserole is one of my favorite quick-meal options for busy weeknights, and the kids love that they can help.

Since I usually have taco meat ready to go in the freezer, I can easily have this entire meal ready for the oven in less than 10 minutes — which means I can have dinner on the table in 30 minutes!

Homemade Butter {Kids In The Kitchen}

After reading through most of the Little House on the Prairie books and the Kirsten American Girl books, Nora has been begging me to try making our own butter — “just like Laura and Kirsten did with their moms”.

So a couple weeks ago we made our own butter — and even I was shocked at how simple the whole process was. Plus, it was REALLY fun for the kids!

Homemade Juice Pops – A Simple Summer Snack

posted by Andrea | 06/23/2016 | 17 comments

A couple months ago, the kids and I stumbled across a popsicle mold at the dollar store and I quickly snatched it up, promising homemade popsicles for a snack later that day.

Since then, we have enjoyed homemade juice pops as an afternoon snack on a VERY regular basis! They taste great on a hot summer day and take roughly 10 seconds to make!!

Kids In The Kitchen: Fruit Pizza

posted by Andrea | 06/8/2016 | 3 comments

Our family loves pizza and we love fruit, so I knew everyone would be excited to have fruit pizza again last week.

It’s such a yummy treat — especially this time of year when the weather is warming up and berry season is right around the corner — and to my surprise, Nora and Simon did so well “helping me” make this special dessert!

Funfetti Cake Mix Cookies {Kids in the Kitchen}

Our entire family has a sweet spot for cookies — they are definitely our go-to snack of choice almost all the time.

While Dave and I prefer chocolate and peanut butter in our cookies, the kids LOVE sprinkles! If you’re looking for a fun and easy recipe to make with kids, or just a festive spring-colored treat, these cake-mix cookies should do the trick!

As I’ve mentioned before, apples have been my favorite fruit for as long as I can remember… and since Nora recently got a new book about Apple Pie, I decided to do another Kids in the Kitchen post and share our yummy recipe for Dutch Apple Pie!

Since Nora enjoys cooking and helping out in the kitchen SO much, I figured it might be fun to start posting a few SUPER simple recipes that not only taste great, but are easy for little hands to help with.

Todays very first “Kids in the Kitchen” post is a fabulously simple recipe for personal pan pizzas… and it just so happens to taste really good too!
