I LOVE holiday cards!

I love receiving cards, I love sending cards, and I really love coming up with a new idea for our holiday cards each year.

Last year, we sent a New Year’s card with Nora’s birth announcement on the back.

The year before, we sent a photo card with our new address.

This year, I’m ordering our cards from Minted.com — and I’m so excited to get my hands on them (don’t worry, you’ll see them eventually!)

    I’m trying to get back into the habit of sending cards. We didn’t have a good photo to use last year so that is on my list for Thanksgiving weekend.

    This year I am sending a photo card with a picture of each of our four kids. I, too, love sending out a greeting card each year (I budget all year for it – stamps, return address labels, cheap paper) and I also enclose a (very short) Christmas letter of what our family has been doing in the past year. I never thought I’d be sending out a picture card and letter but because we are military and live all over the world, our extended families really seem to appreciate it.     We do a photo card of the kids each year, our friends and family who are not online enjoy seeing how big the kids have grown.

    We are moving across the country. I would LOVE to be able to send out Christmas cards that also have our new information on them. That would be wonderful.

    We don’t normally send Christmas cards in order to “simplify” at Christmas. Just one thing that we don’t feel needs to be done. I do try to send a Christmas email to all my friends and family. But if I had some cool cards, I might send some out!

    We usually send out a photo Christmas card each year, and this year I plan to do the same…unless I am not on top of things, then the Christmas card will become a New Year card!
