    My birthday is Dec. 22. Last year my son gave me a birthday gift to open. My husband was surprised to see that it was the Christmas gift that he had made for me and had already wrapped and put under the tree, waiting for Christmas.

    How awesomely generous of you to give gifts on your birthday. My best birthday gift was my twin daughters coming home from the hospital 2 days before my 35th birthday. Best gift EVER! Happy happy birthday to you 🙂

    I turned 27 last August and my husband surprised me with a day full of “27 of my favorite things.” They were little treats all day leading up to a wonderful dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant. It was wonderful and very thoughtful!

    Happy Birthday! I recently discovered your site and can’t stop reading it. Love all your suggestions, though I’m more of a type B striving to be a type A. 😛
    The best b-day present was when I turned 30, my husband filled our living room with 100 helium filled ballons, a large banner, and a cupcake tree. He also gave me a luminating cherry blossom tree and surprised me again with all my friends at a comedy dinner show.

    My favorite birthday gift was the entire day of my 21st birthday- the hubs took me out to dinner at a sushi restaurant. We had to stop by a friend’s to “drop something off” afterward and I was surprised at the door by 40+ friends! He planned a classy wine-and-cheese party and my little sister drove into town to be there for it 🙂

    One of my favorite birthday gifts was from my dad. I am not sure which birthday it was, but he gave me a stuffed animal kitty radio. It was so awesome because the radio was built into the kitty’s stomach. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

    Let’s see fave birthday present…for me it was sitting down to my favorite meal with my sisters and Mom. Corny I know but I always loved Mole on my birthday. Hmmm I think I’m making that this weekend….

    I read your blog everyday and love it! So much of what you tell of yourself is just like me! I’m 50 now and my youngest is 15…. you do have to let things go sometimes and just enjoy life because it’s so short, they grow up so fast, and you will never get everything done! Believe me I know it’s hard because I still try, making lists, trying to get everything checked off… I can tell that you are a wonderful mom and wife and you are just the way God made you! I have had so many great gifts but the one I enjoy the most is when all 4 kids and my husband clean the house, get everything done- laundry, garage swept, dust, vacuum, mirrors, bathrooms and light a candle and surprise me with a perfectly cleaned house– its the best gift ever and doesn’t cost anything but their time and love….I wish you the happiest Birthday ever and thanks so much for sharing your life with us.

    One of my favorite birthday surprises was when my girlfriends planned a weekend trip away to Toronto after our finals were finished (this was when we were in university). It was a great way to end the semester!
