I think the best material gift I was ever given on a birthday was my KitchenAid mixer two years ago – I would have just got myself the cheapest one some day, but I was gifted the top of the line version with a bunch of extras. It was awesome! 🙂

My favorite birthday gift was a party thrown by my fourth grade students. They worked with my husband to surprise me with my favorite foods and an assortment of penguin themed gifts. They arranged everything right down to the story my husband had to tell me to get me to step out of the classroom so they could set up. It was amazing!

My favorite birthday was when my sister gave me two handmade quilts to put on my daughters’ twin size beds. One was all music note and treble cleff fabric for my violin player, and the other one was all ballet and dance fabric for my little ballerina. My sister is an awesome seamstress. I will cherish these quilts forever!
