Earlier this week, I blogged a little bit about the start of our moving & packing process. Since I’m super busy right now, I’ve decided to just do a little each day to get us ready to move in about 4 weeks. Slowly but surely, we’ll be ready — I hope!!
Honestly, who knew we had so much stuff!!
Anyway, my current plan is to continue boxing up all our stuff and bringing the boxes down to our basement. Then, on moving day, we can simply load everything onto the truck. I might change my mind and start stacking boxes directly in the garage…but for now, I’m sticking with the basement.
And for those of you who have never been in our basement {which is at least 99% of you} — let me just preface these pictures by saying, I NORMALLY have a clean, clutter-free, wide-open, 1200 sq. ft. basement!
On any given day, you could have walked down into our basement and seen a weight bench, my painting supplies, our pantry, and a few tubs of holiday decorations — but that’s it. The rest of the basement was totally clear. Clutter free. Glorious!
But now I have this….
…and this…
…and lots more empty boxes waiting to be filled with all our stuff!
And this is only after one week! We still have LOTS more boxes, bins, tubs, and baskets of stuff to bring down.
Slowly but surely — I can do this…right?
I just hate the clutter and the mess!
However, on a positive note, the main floor of our house it looking pretty empty!

When I went to your site last nite 11/19 you had squares with different wonderful looking food. I tried in every way possible to get some of those recipies but could not get them. Am I doing something wrong .

Hi Connie,
Sorry you are having trouble find those recipes…let’s see if I can help you out.
I’m assuming you are talking about my Simple Organized Thanksgiving post. If so, there are 2 places where I have “squares” with pictures of food.
The first place has 6 boxes (under the “Thanksgiving Printables” section) these pictures are actually from an Ebook that you’ll need to download to get the recipes. To download the book, you need to click on the blue link that say “Thanksgiving Menu Planning Ebook”. If that link doesn’t work, it probably means your computer is not capable of downloading it.
The second place has 9 boxes and is a little further down in the post (under the “Thanksgiving Menu” section). Basically you’ll need to look for the number on the picture and then look below at the list of recipes. Then click on the recipe that corresponds with the number on the picture.
For example, if you want to get the recipe for #3, you would simply scroll down and click on “3. Favorite Green Beans”.
By clicking on the recipe link, you will then be re-directed to another blog post that contains that specific recipe. You can read the recipe or print it off.
Hopefully this helps.

It’s OK to have clutter in your basement. And it’s OK to have clutter in your house. Life is too short to worry about it!!!! Take time to enjoy your life as it is.

Thanks Linda — but don’t worry, I’m not too stressed out about my clutter!
We will definitely be enjoying the holiday season…just with a little more clutter and a lot less decorations!
