Today is my 27th birthday… and I’m celebrating by tearing apart my kitchen 🙂
Normally, someone might share a cake recipe on their birthday, but since I’ve never been a huge fan of cake, I’m sharing a fun {and extremely simple} treat that I absolutely LOVE. Of course I love the salty/sweet combo of the pretzels and chocolate, but I also love that I can whip up several dozen of these treats in about 5 minutes.
Oh, and for those of you concerned that I won’t be eating cake on my birthday… rest assured, we have cheesecake ready and waiting in our fridge 🙂
Just a couple cute pictures of my childhood birthday cakes!
Recipe for Five-Minute Chocolatey Pretzel Bites:
Ingredients for 2-4 dozen
- 2-4 dozen small round pretzels
- 2-4 dozen Hershey’s Kisses
- 2-4 dozen M&M candies
Directions
- Spread a layer of pretzels on parchment paper or a silicone baking mat
- Top each pretzel with a Hershey’s Kiss
- Put the pan(s) in a warm oven for about 5 minutes (I always do this while the oven is preheating or while it’s cooling from something else I’ve made)
- Pull them out when the Kisses are very soft and press an M&M candy into the center of each Kiss
- Let cool completely and store in an airtight container.

This is one of my all-time favorites too! The sweet and salty and of coure, chocolate, is just so yummy! I can’t leave them alone!
If you like pecans they’re really good with rolos and a pecan pressed on top! Or a dove caramel instead of rolos!

Happy Birthday! These are a favorite of my family, too! They are also very good with a Rolo inside the pretzel, instead of the Hershey’s kiss! Adds a gooey carmel flavor to the salty pretzel and sweet chocolate! Hope your day is extra special! Happy Kitchen makeover!!

I don’t have these often because I would destroy a whole bag: chocolate covered Fritos.

A similar take on this recipe is to take small pretzels and put a rolo on instead and then press in a pecan, walnut, or any other nut as a homemade turtle! YUM! If you are not a nut fan you could also do M&M’s or whatever else you wanted.
