It’s been a LONG summer of weddings for Dave and me… and Nora.
We had a few friends and cousins get married — PLUS we also had Dave’s brother’s {out-of-state} wedding in June, my sister’s wedding in July, and then my other sister’s wedding this past weekend!
{my stunning sister and her new husband with my dad’s ’59 Corvette}
Yeah, I’m definitely ready to be finished with weddings, rehearsals, showers, bachelorette parties, registries, centerpieces, invitations, dress fittings, tux rentals, etc. etc. etc. etc.
Weddings are fun, but carting a baby along and trying to make sure that:
- she’s in a good mood for pictures
- someone is available to help watch her when both Dave and I are involved in pictures and those pictures are taking place in different locations
- someone is available to watch her during the ceremony
- there is time to quickly feed/change her in between pictures, the wedding, and the reception
- she doesn’t get filthy dirty in her cuter-than-cute wedding attire
- she doesn’t puke, poop, pee, or drool all over my dress or Dave’s tux
- she has a place and time to play and take a nap (Nora took one whopping 20-minute nap the entire day)
- she can still kind-of stick to her routine and get to bed at a decent hour
- mom and dad can still have a good time and try to focus on helping the bride and groom and enjoying the wedding festivities with family and friends!
I don’t think Dave and I perfectly accomplished every item on that list, but we sure gave it a good try and managed to end the day with clean clothes, full bellies, and Nora sleeping in her carseat (in the PJ’s I packed) by 9:30pm.
Not bad!
Oh, and I should mention that Nora actually played a part in the wedding this past weekend. She was the official flower girl and even got her name in the program!
She walked down the aisle with Dave, and actually performed quite well considering all the strange people and flashing camera lights. She looked so stinkin’ cute and everyone got a good chuckle watching her strut to the front of church! Plus, I think it was just what my sister needed to help her relax and smile before my dad walked her down the aisle.
Despite the chilly weather, we had a fabulous day for pictures — and even though all these pictures were taken on my phone, I just LOVE how the bright pink pops against the grey and white.
Oh, and I wish I had a better picture of our bright pink shoes — SO uncomfortable, but they looked amazing for pictures!
Now that all our siblings are married, I think we’re finished with crazy wedding weekends!

Oh shoot — i was going to mention this in the post too. The headband was made by a friend who runs an Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/simplyanandi
She has super cute stuff!

Those bridesmaids dresses are fantastic. They’re the only ones I’ve ever seen where I think you could legitimately wear them elsewhere. Can I ask where they came from?
Andrea says
Thanks Jen,
The dresses were from JCPenny’s — on the clearance rack for $39!
