UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed.
Congrats to: Elizabeth (rogerseliz@….) and Rebecca (rebecca.lammi@…)
In case you missed it, yesterday was the BIG DAY when I launched my “new” website. So of course, I thought we should celebrate today with a fun giveaway!
Well, it just so happens that my friends over at Hoover recently launched some new products of their own… and they’ve graciously offered to give away TWO of their newest vacuums to help us celebrate!
1. The Hoover High Performance (available at Walmart)
2. The Hoover Wind Tunnel Air Steerable (available on Amazon.com)
And since it’s THAT time of year when we’re all trying to “spring clean” and organize our homes, I figured new vacuums would be the perfect giveaway!
First, let me tell you a bit about these brand new vacuums — and yes, I was lucky enough to receive BOTH vacuums to use in our home. I’m also lucky enough to have a husband who is willing to vacuum — but unfortunately, Hoover can’t help you with that one 🙂
1. Hoover High Performance:
This vacuum really IS “high performance”.
This is how much junk it sucked out of our living room carpet AFTER I vacuumed with our previous vacuum, and I usually vacuum twice a week! (I included my hand in the picture so you could tell just how much dirt and dust this really is)
It’s super powerful, and seamlessly maneuvers from carpet to hard floors with the twist of a knob — making it the perfect tool for our home.
It also has a boatload of “on board” attachments that transform this vacuum into a vicious pet-hair-grabber, crumbs-in-the-crack-finder, and kid-mess-picker-upper.
Or just a fun “light saber” toy for Nora 🙂
The Hoover High Performance is reasonably priced at around $175 and currently available at most Walmart stores.
2. Hoover Wind Tunnel Air Steerable:
Since our house has a basement, a main floor, a second story, and a heated outbuilding (with carpet), we frequently have to lug our vacuum up and down stairs… and to the outbuilding to vacuum, so I’ve been on the look-out for a light-weight, affordable vacuum that still has LOTS of suction and power.
Well, the Hoover Air Steerable is all that and more — plus, it’s super easy to maneuver around (and under) furniture.
It’s super powerful, but extremely easy to lift up and down stairs, or wherever you need it (it’s less than 14 lbs.) I’ve actually used it a couple times to vacuum out our cars because it has a nice long hose and great attachment options.
The last time I checked, the Hoover Wind Tunnel Air Steerable was on sale for only $159 via Amazon.com!
Hoover has a really fabulous new marketing campaign for these two vacuums — I absolutely LOVE the commercials!
This is the High Performance commercial:
This is the Air Steerable commercial:
Aren’t they clever!
I think moms and dads everywhere will resonate with these commercials 🙂
OK OK, let’s get to the giveaway…

I would love a new vacuum, mine smells like dog and I can’t get rid of the smell!
Michell Nichols says
We had that problem too. We found an air filter that needed removed/changed. If you haven’t already tried that, maybe that would help ๐
Erin says
Well, I live with my sister, bro-in-law, nephew, 2 dogs and 4 cats. Yup, it’s a full house! My sister has a Dyson but it just hasn’t been working well and I’d love to get a new Hoover vacuum so we can clean better and see what the Dyson left behind! Thanks for the giveaway Andrea!
Michell Nichols says
I would love to win a new Hoover, because my OLD Hoover is finally wearing out after MANY years of use ๐

I would love a new vacuum because I have a 17 month old toddler, a 90 lb dog and an 18 lb cat who thrive on making big messes in my house.
I am subscribed by email. Love the look of the new site BTW>

I have two little girls and a long haired cat. I also have a combination of carpet, rugs, and wood floors (including carpeted stairs). My youngest has just reached the “let me throw this food on the floor” stage, and I can use all the help cleaning that I can get!
Robin L says
I have carpet, hardwood, tile, teenager, husband and two indoor cats . . . enough said.
Barb says
I would LOVE the Hoover Wind Tunnel Air Steerable because I have painful back problems and need a very light vacuum.
Julie says
I already subscribe and I would LOVE this vacuum because I have 2 children, a dog, a husband, and my little shark is always on the fritz!
Amanda says
We have dogs, goats, guinea pigs and 2 teenage girls. A new vacuum would definitely help with all the hair that goes around!

Andrea,
I follow you on Facebook and just re-subscribed to your emails.
I am entering this giveaway in hopes of winning a new vacuum cleaner for my mom.
She is 85 and suffered a heart attack nearly two weeks ago. Her health is excellent as is her prognosis. For that, we are truly blessed.
She lives alone (widowed 3 years ago) and does all of her own cleaning. She actually loves to clean which is a good thing! :0)
Her current vacuum cleaner is an old Hoover which is very heavy and difficult to maneuver.
My sister and I have been helping her with the cleaning but she prefers to do it herself.
So . . . a newer, more streamlined vacuum cleaner would allow her to get back to doing what she loves!
Thanks for all you through your website, feeds, and consulting!
Holly

Why do I need a new vacuum? Because I don’t own a vacuum. We have all hard floors, but will be putting in some carpet later this year.

With 2 kids, one being a toddler, I find cheerios everywhere! A new vacuum would be fabulous!

Already subscribed to SOL!! Congrats on the new site btw!!
Beth says
I would love to have one of these vacuums to use because: 2 boys, 3rd boy on the way, husband, 5 acres of dirt, mud, gardening, exploring, bugs and finally 2 dogs. Dirt and dog hair and other “things” find their way in!! Enough said.

I subscribed to you through email.

There is a tree in the front yard of my new house that sheds these little light feather-like things all over the driveway for about six to eight months of the year. With two messy guys, two dogs and that tree, my floor is never as clean as I want it to be. I would LOVE this vacuum!
Tonia Allen says
Bagless vacuums are great and a Hoover is even better because then I can say I’m hoovering rather than vacuuming, which sounds just a little more posh. For some reason in Indiana they say you are sweeping when you vacuum. Confusing? We think so. Let’s Hoover!
Erin G says
I would love a new Hoover because we have a daughter who is now crawling and finding every piece of dirt that our current vacuum isn’t catching.
Kelly says
I have a 12 year old bagless vacuum and all the rubber seals are wrecked, so it blows as much dust as it picks up, and the hose hasn’t functioned for years…was just thinking this weekend that I needed a new vacuum, but didn’t know where to start looking since there are so many options out there! I’d love one of these beauties!
Jennifer says
I would love a new Hoover because my current vacuum, a Sanyo upright is 14 years old. The cord is frayed (electrical tape holding it together), heavy to lug up and down the stairs, and the hose is only two feet long. We had to get an extra hose to do any kind of deep cleaning and that one was “thrown in” when purchased because it was already held together with duct tape at the vacuum shop. We have a Boston Terrier who hardly sheds and we have a Pug who will shed just by walking across the room. I need to always be vacuuming and after 14 years, how well can a vacuum work?
Cassie S says
I get your emails and I look forward to them. Good job on the name change. I love it!

We are finishing our basement right now. It will be done next Tuesday. Yea! The upstairs has cents vacuum. Unfortunately we couldn’t build that into the basement so I am in the market for a new vacuum. I just looked at them this morning at Walmart. What a timely post! I just found your blog a couple of days ago but I love it!
Julie Carter says
I love to run the sweeper!!! The joy (and disgust) I feel when I see all the nastiness being sucked out of my carpet is exciting!! I am a mom of two boys, a wife, and a daughter and ALL these men live in my house! Their ages are 8,16,38,and 75. The only other female in the house is our 60lb dog Daphne who LOVES to shed! I would love a strong sweeper to clean up after all these people and animals!!!
