Congrats to: Reva (yamoo1988@…)
As many of you know, we’ve had quite the time trying to get Nora to sleep… EVER! However, one thing we’ve been doing every night she was only about 2 months old (in attempts to help her sleep better) is a relatively simple bathtime / bedtime routine.
We personally feel like this helps to calm her down and “signal” that we’re starting the bed-time process — even if it does take her 3 more hours to actually fall asleep.
It doesn’t work every night, but this girl LOVES her baths, so it’s worth it!
Every evening after dinner, Dave gives her a nice warm bath and lets her splash around for a bit. Then we bring her into her nursery with the lights down low, change her diaper, put lotion on, and get her PJ’s on. We read a couple books, I feed her, and she falls asleep.
Then we pray that she STAYS asleep 🙂
The whole process takes about 30 minutes and it’s a great chance for Dave and I to each spend a little one-on-one time with Nora. Plus I feel like we’re instilling some sort of routine into her day — which is definitely good for her, and it sure makes me happy.
Isn’t she cute!
For one of my shower gifts, I got a big set of Johnson & Johnson bath-time products — and we’ve been using them every night for the past 9 months. My favorite is the Lavender bedtime bath products because I love the smell… or maybe it’s because I’m hoping it will make Nora sleepy.
Either way, baby bath products are a super practical (and clutter-free) gift idea for any new mom, or anyone you know with small children. And for a limited time, Johnson & Johnson is offering a special Baby Essential Pack that would make such a perfect gift. The set is available only at Walmart and Walmart.com through September 14.
The Baby Essentials Special Pack includes Johnson’s Baby Lotion, Johnson’s Head-to-Toe Wash, Johnson’s Shampoo, Johnson’s Baby Bubble Bath, and Desitin Creamy.
Oh, and just because Nora loves her bathtime SO much, I’m giving away a huge set of baby bathtime goodies — which includes the Johnson’s Baby Essentials Pack.

I have a baby girl that was born on the same day as Nora. It is amazing how busy and destructive a nine month old can be! I look forward to bath time, where Megan is contained and content to play and splash. We usually wind down with a little lotion massage, nursing, a song and the to bed. I’ll have to try the lavander scent. Getting her to sleep the entire night would be fabulous! (I shouldn’t complain… she usually sleeps from 8pm-4am. A few more hours would be nice though!)

We do a bedtime routine every night as well! Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t! I love snuggling with my baby that is the best part. He is now 13 months old now and doesn’t like to snuggle as much as he used to but when he does I make the most of it!
Kristine says
Lullaby music and a rocking chair. When they are a bit older, I love the precious things they say during prayers! I’ve even had a few laughs!
Mary says
I have a 3 yr old, who just like Nora, never slept as a baby. Ever. Babies are supposed to sleep all day! Waa, anywho, we give him a bath, a bottle and just chill. It was a nice routine because since he never slept, we would give him multiple baths just to have him calm down. At 3, he finally sleeps in till after 7am. But im 39 weeks (tomorrow) so im hoping this one does believe in sleeping too!
Rebecca says
I think routines at bedtime are so important – for adults, children, & babies alike! There are so many people in my life expecting right now – I know I will find a good home for the giveaway ๐

i have a 1yr old and a 3yr old that love bath time.. more than they love playtime i think. my three 3yr old likes to “swim” and my 1yr old has recently discovered splashing… they both cry and get mad at me when i tell them they have to get out because they are getting crinkly (prune fingers/toes).. and a frog just happens to be one of their favorite animals <3

We call bathtime “taking a spa”, in our house! We tell our 8 month old twin girls that it’s time for spa! Even babies need a little pampering, right? ๐ At the beginning of every bath, I take a handful of the bubbles and put in on the top of their heads. It looks so funny, I just love it. I can’t wait until they are old enough to understand what I am doing and laugh along with me!
Katy says

I would give this prize pack to my co-worker. He and his wife (who are not able to have children), are in the process of adopting a 2 week old baby. They have fostered many children, but have adopted two siblings from a drug abusive mother. The mother recently had another child and they are adopting him also.
What great people.

I would give this to my step-daughter because my grand daughter is 10 months old and her mother doesn’t understand how important this bedtime ritual is for the baby. Hopefully, when I give this link to her, she’ll understand that I’m not the only one who believes this.
