UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed.
Congrats to: Reva (yamoo1988@…)
As many of you know, we’ve had quite the time trying to get Nora to sleep… EVER! However, one thing we’ve been doing every night she was only about 2 months old (in attempts to help her sleep better) is a relatively simple bathtime / bedtime routine.
We personally feel like this helps to calm her down and “signal” that we’re starting the bed-time process — even if it does take her 3 more hours to actually fall asleep.
It doesn’t work every night, but this girl LOVES her baths, so it’s worth it!
Every evening after dinner, Dave gives her a nice warm bath and lets her splash around for a bit. Then we bring her into her nursery with the lights down low, change her diaper, put lotion on, and get her PJ’s on. We read a couple books, I feed her, and she falls asleep.
Then we pray that she STAYS asleep 🙂
The whole process takes about 30 minutes and it’s a great chance for Dave and I to each spend a little one-on-one time with Nora. Plus I feel like we’re instilling some sort of routine into her day — which is definitely good for her, and it sure makes me happy.
Isn’t she cute!
For one of my shower gifts, I got a big set of Johnson & Johnson bath-time products — and we’ve been using them every night for the past 9 months. My favorite is the Lavender bedtime bath products because I love the smell… or maybe it’s because I’m hoping it will make Nora sleepy.
Either way, baby bath products are a super practical (and clutter-free) gift idea for any new mom, or anyone you know with small children. And for a limited time, Johnson & Johnson is offering a special Baby Essential Pack that would make such a perfect gift. The set is available only at Walmart and Walmart.com through September 14.
The Baby Essentials Special Pack includes Johnson’s Baby Lotion, Johnson’s Head-to-Toe Wash, Johnson’s Shampoo, Johnson’s Baby Bubble Bath, and Desitin Creamy.
Oh, and just because Nora loves her bathtime SO much, I’m giving away a huge set of baby bathtime goodies — which includes the Johnson’s Baby Essentials Pack.

I loved rocking in a chair with both my kids before night time. They would be almost alseep and I would then place them in their crib. They would go peacefully to sleep most night using this method. I would use this giveaway as a baby shower gift.
Andrea says
My baby boy loves to splash in the bathtub, too. Although that usually makes him more awake than sleepy:-)

My “baby” is 17, but I’d love to win this and give it to Caleb Medley, who was shot in the face during the Aurora, CO theatre shooting in July 2012 and his wife.. She gave birth to a baby boy, their first child, a day or 2 later. They have HUGE medical expenses and a lot of healing to do. This would be a lovely gift for the new baby, Hugo.

When my kids were little, one loved her bath and never fell asleep afterward but the other one screamed the whole time and immediately fell asleep as soon as the bottle went into her mouth. I would give this to a coworker who is expecting after many miscarriages.

We have a two month old, so we are still figuring out our bathtime routine… we give her a bath in the “big” tub, using a yellow sponge underneath her… it works pretty well – she loves the bath! I’m exciting for when she’s able to actually “play” in the water.
Amy Schaffer says
My babies are getting too old for baby shampoo. They want stuff that makes them smell like a man. ๐ However, I would happily pass this gift along to a dear friend who is due any day with another Blessing! Thanks for the chance to win!

No more babies for me, so I would give this to my friend who is due with her second child (a girl!) in November. Love the cute pictures of Nora!! To give you hope, my daughter did not sleep through the night until she was two, and is now the best sleeper ever. She even asks to go to bed early if she is tired!!

My favorite thing about bath time is those pruney little toes that come out after playing for an hour! But I think my little guy like being covered in powder after the best!
Jennifer M. says
I love these products. The lotion smells so good and so does the baby shampoo! Would love to win this! I use baby shampoo for all my kids, ages 5, 3, 2, and 4 months, no use in buying special shampoo for them. I will either use this or give it to my sister-in-law who us due with her new 1st baby at the end of the month

I’m expecting my first in December and would love this bath set!!!
Tiffany S says
We followed much the same routine with our first as you do with Nora. We now have 3 little ones 4 and under and bathtime is still part of our bedtime routine. They get a small bedtime snack to help avoid that hollow-we-are-going-to-starve-to-death-before-breakfast feeling. Then, bath where they get to play for a few minutes. After bath, it’s time for jammies and brushing of teeth. Lastly, we all (Daddy, Mommy, and 3 boys) gather in the boys’ room for bedtime routine of prayer, scripture memory, a couple of songs, and plenty of snuggles to help everyone settle in for the night – hopefully! ๐

I love reading to our son before bed.
Maria S. says
I love to go in after they’re asleep, turn on a low lamp, and just “gaze lovingly.” And gloat that they’re mine, even if it’s only for a short time.
Leigh says
My baby hasn’t arrived yet, but is due any day! This gift pack would be very useful.
Sue says
I love that you share your parenting experiences. My children are grown, but I had a bathtime routine similar to yours. It is so important that children have routines, then they know what to expect. Of course there are times when you are away from home that it doesn’t quite work, but at home it is best to have routines. I am a middle school teacher and a student said the other day, “I wish all my classes were like this…there is order and we do things a certain way.” What a great compliment that made my day and reminded me that older kids love routines too!
Sue says
I forgot to mention that I would give this gift to my son and daughter in law who are expecting their 2nd baby. Their first is 11 months old and the second will be born in February.
Tiffany says
Baby isn’t here yet, a few more weeks, but we always rub the belly and say goodnight to baby.
Mare says
Our very dear friend just had a beautiful baby girl and I would love to surprise her with this!
Jamie says
I love watching my 2 girls (6 months and 2 years) play in the tub together – lots of splashing and giggling!
Melaney says
My favorite part of bathtime is the bath itself. I work long hours And don’t get to Be home much with my baby. My husband always sets up bathtime with my daughter so that when I get home, I can focus on her 100%. That’s my special one-on-one time with my baby girl.
Five4FiveMeals says
My favorite part of our boy’s routine is when his daddy reads to him. I love listening to my husband read our baby’s favorite stories. I love hearing my sweet boy giggle.
