If you’ve ever done any type of home renovation project, you’ve probably thumbed through piles of magazines, scoured the Internet, and walked the isles of home improvement stores searching for inspiration and ideas.

Or maybe I’m the only one! 

I absolutely LOVE reading about other people’s ideas, learning helpful tips and tricks, drooling over amazing before and after pictures, seeing the lastest products, and dreaming of what my house might look like if I implemented even just a few of the ideas in my ideas book or in my array of Pinterest boards.

So as you can imagine, I’ve been doing lots of “research” for our kitchen renovation… which means I spend a fair amount of time each week searching for new ideas, looking for deals on products we want to buy, and drooling over all things “kitchen”.

Don’t tell Dave, he thinks I’m always working when I’m at my computer 🙂

Anyway, because I’m a home-renovation junkie, I’m excited to share a fun little design sweepstakes sponsored by Apartment Guide.

From now until August 14, you can visit YourPicksYourPlace.com to vote {once per day} for your favorite room design showcasing furniture and home décor items selected by featured bloggers.

Unfortunately they don’t have a kitchen round, but the voting is currently open for some pretty sweet bedroom designs… like the one featured below.

By voting, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize or one of eight $250 weekly prizes to decorate your own home. You can also find design and décor tips from Apartment Guide, and featured bloggers to help you design a room that’s uniquely you.

    I find my inspiration all over – from friends photos and comments on FB, walking through stores (like Target) just to get ideas, going through Parade of Homes events, even just going for a walk.

    i find my design inspiration from what’s going on in my life i think. When i was younger, I gravitated towards bolder colors. Now i like ALOT of simplicity and dead space, because it feels more like what I need as a mom, wife, photographer and woman. I gravitate endlessly right now to coastal design, because I am feeling drawn to the beach and the need for solace. My design is always a relection of what’s going on inside my head. And necessity. My most recent favorite design was a kitchen that had dog bowls made into the side of a kitchen island. Never had a dog before last year. Now…i NEED that design! Pinterest, and private blogs like yours and life weave together my inspiration!
