UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed.
Congrats to: Kara (karamullinix@…)
If you’ve ever done any type of home renovation project, you’ve probably thumbed through piles of magazines, scoured the Internet, and walked the isles of home improvement stores searching for inspiration and ideas.
Or maybe I’m the only one!
I absolutely LOVE reading about other people’s ideas, learning helpful tips and tricks, drooling over amazing before and after pictures, seeing the lastest products, and dreaming of what my house might look like if I implemented even just a few of the ideas in my ideas book or in my array of Pinterest boards.
So as you can imagine, I’ve been doing lots of “research” for our kitchen renovation… which means I spend a fair amount of time each week searching for new ideas, looking for deals on products we want to buy, and drooling over all things “kitchen”.
Don’t tell Dave, he thinks I’m always working when I’m at my computer 🙂
Anyway, because I’m a home-renovation junkie, I’m excited to share a fun little design sweepstakes sponsored by Apartment Guide.
“Your Picks. Your Place.” Sweepstakes
From now until August 14, you can visit YourPicksYourPlace.com to vote {once per day} for your favorite room design showcasing furniture and home décor items selected by featured bloggers.
Unfortunately they don’t have a kitchen round, but the voting is currently open for some pretty sweet bedroom designs… like the one featured below.
By voting, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize or one of eight $250 weekly prizes to decorate your own home. You can also find design and décor tips from Apartment Guide, and featured bloggers to help you design a room that’s uniquely you.
And while we’re on the topic of home renovations, decorating, and design, I figured we might as well include a fun giveaway…
Like a $100 Target gift card so you can purchase a few new things for your home!

Apartment Guide and owner Consumer Source, Inc. partnered with me to promote the “Your Picks. Your Place. Sweepstakes.” As part of that program, I received compensation. They did not tell me what to say about the products used, and believe that consumers and bloggers are free to form their own opinions and share them in their own words. Consumer Source’s policies align with WOMMA Ethics Code, FTC guidelines and social media engagement recommendations. The winner of this giveaway will be randomly chosen and gift card fulfillment will be handled by a third party.

I get my design inspiration from fabric. Certain designs and colors just speak to me and then it’s easy for the rest of the room to fall in line. I have a special place in my heart for retro fabric, probably because I remember it from the first time around so it brings back memories.

I get my design inspiration from nature. I love wall colors like wheat (warm brown/gold) or stone (soft gray). I also like to liven things up with pops of color, like when I painted my mother’s antique rocking chair turquoise after she passed away. It connects me to her (like getting a hug) and makes me feel grounded to the past, but it also gives off a fun & new feeling and reminds me of her joyful spirit.
