If you’ve ever done any type of home renovation project, you’ve probably thumbed through piles of magazines, scoured the Internet, and walked the isles of home improvement stores searching for inspiration and ideas.

Or maybe I’m the only one! 

I absolutely LOVE reading about other people’s ideas, learning helpful tips and tricks, drooling over amazing before and after pictures, seeing the lastest products, and dreaming of what my house might look like if I implemented even just a few of the ideas in my ideas book or in my array of Pinterest boards.

So as you can imagine, I’ve been doing lots of “research” for our kitchen renovation… which means I spend a fair amount of time each week searching for new ideas, looking for deals on products we want to buy, and drooling over all things “kitchen”.

Don’t tell Dave, he thinks I’m always working when I’m at my computer 🙂

Anyway, because I’m a home-renovation junkie, I’m excited to share a fun little design sweepstakes sponsored by Apartment Guide.

From now until August 14, you can visit YourPicksYourPlace.com to vote {once per day} for your favorite room design showcasing furniture and home décor items selected by featured bloggers.

Unfortunately they don’t have a kitchen round, but the voting is currently open for some pretty sweet bedroom designs… like the one featured below.

By voting, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize or one of eight $250 weekly prizes to decorate your own home. You can also find design and décor tips from Apartment Guide, and featured bloggers to help you design a room that’s uniquely you.

    I used to find inspiration in magazines and blogs. Now, I would have to say it’s primarily Pinterest.

    I get design inspiration from blogs like I Suwanee and Little Green Notebook, plus pinterest.

    Pinterest is probably my biggest inspiration. you can tailor it so specifically to what your style is and what you’re looking for! I’m definitely obsessed 🙂

    I have a folder of all my favs. I love Pinterest to help. Sometime I just search a word on Google and look at the images to find ideas.

    magazines, blogs, friends, but mostly just trying to regroup and better organize what we already have and make it more functional. Sometimes I get too caught up in the “if I had this” organizing gadget or piece of furniture, my life would be perfect, but lo and behold, it never is, so I like to think long and hard about bringing new stuff in that will become clutter and be in the Goodwill pile/garage sale in a few years……..

    I gather my inspiration from all kinds of different sources. Sometimes a website, lots from magazines, and I LOVE to go to Pier 1 and TJMAXX and find unique pieces I wouldn’t have thought of.

    I either find my design inspiration on facebook, your blog, friends’ homes, or just from what I like. I am not very concerned with design and actually HATE that part of the process. I always tell my husband to do whatever he wants to do and I will tell him if I like it when it is done!

    I find that my design inspiration has changed now that I have gotten older. TV, magazines, other homes, and blogs have been where I have mainly “been inspired.” Lately, I am inspired by what is simple, useful, and beautiful!

    I get my inspiration from the weirdest places. My dentist’s office had just been repainted and I fell in love with their color scheme. And I get pretty cool ideas from Travel Brochures and hotel websites. I want my bedroom & bathroom to be a place of complete relaxation and hotels (almost) always have simple lines and colors that seem effortlessly elegant.
