If you’ve ever done any type of home renovation project, you’ve probably thumbed through piles of magazines, scoured the Internet, and walked the isles of home improvement stores searching for inspiration and ideas.

Or maybe I’m the only one! 

I absolutely LOVE reading about other people’s ideas, learning helpful tips and tricks, drooling over amazing before and after pictures, seeing the lastest products, and dreaming of what my house might look like if I implemented even just a few of the ideas in my ideas book or in my array of Pinterest boards.

So as you can imagine, I’ve been doing lots of “research” for our kitchen renovation… which means I spend a fair amount of time each week searching for new ideas, looking for deals on products we want to buy, and drooling over all things “kitchen”.

Don’t tell Dave, he thinks I’m always working when I’m at my computer 🙂

Anyway, because I’m a home-renovation junkie, I’m excited to share a fun little design sweepstakes sponsored by Apartment Guide.

From now until August 14, you can visit YourPicksYourPlace.com to vote {once per day} for your favorite room design showcasing furniture and home décor items selected by featured bloggers.

Unfortunately they don’t have a kitchen round, but the voting is currently open for some pretty sweet bedroom designs… like the one featured below.

By voting, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize or one of eight $250 weekly prizes to decorate your own home. You can also find design and décor tips from Apartment Guide, and featured bloggers to help you design a room that’s uniquely you.

    I find my design inspiration everywhere! I love HGTV, magazines like “AD,” “House Beautiful,” “Country Living,” “Living,” and “Better Homes & Gardens.” I love to look at interior design websites! Jennifer Brouwer has a wonderful site. I’ve been pretty busy these last few years so it’s been on the back burner–but I always try to get a little bit of inspiration in when I can! On the Apartment Guide contest, I voted for the Southern-style bedroom. I lived in the South for @10 years and they have such a refined and elegant way of living. I also love the coastal style–relaxed, put-your-feet-up kind of look w/whites and taupes as the predominant (impractical, I know!) colors.

    Design inspiration – I am desperately lacking in this area. We have lived in our current home for almost 7 years and I have yet to hang a picture because I’m afraid I’ll put it in the wrong place, wrong height, etc.

    I love Target! Pinterest is a big help and has turned into a virtual “Honey do list” My husband rolls his eyes when I start a sentence saying “I found this great idea on Pinterest….” ! I love getting ideas and searching for a piece I love and building the room around that. My mom is amazing when it comes to decorating anything so that is a huge help as well!

    I love looking at Country Living Magazine for inspiration. Also HGTV shows. Target is wonderful for home decor they always have trendy things for less. Can’t forget Pinterest I could look on there for hours.

    As a professional organizer, I get my inspiration from clearing out clutter (yes, we have kids and stuff too) and keeping a minimalist space.

    I’m not sure I have a theme, but whenever I see something that I fall in love with it tends to become the focal point and I just build around it. Like shoes, first the shoes and then the outfit.

    I love Target! What a great giveaway! I usually have my sister-in-law and good friend help me with design. I also use Pinterest. I’m working on redecorating my living room, so a Target gift card would be a big help 🙂
