UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed.
Congrats to: Kara (karamullinix@…)
If you’ve ever done any type of home renovation project, you’ve probably thumbed through piles of magazines, scoured the Internet, and walked the isles of home improvement stores searching for inspiration and ideas.
Or maybe I’m the only one!
I absolutely LOVE reading about other people’s ideas, learning helpful tips and tricks, drooling over amazing before and after pictures, seeing the lastest products, and dreaming of what my house might look like if I implemented even just a few of the ideas in my ideas book or in my array of Pinterest boards.
So as you can imagine, I’ve been doing lots of “research” for our kitchen renovation… which means I spend a fair amount of time each week searching for new ideas, looking for deals on products we want to buy, and drooling over all things “kitchen”.
Don’t tell Dave, he thinks I’m always working when I’m at my computer 🙂
Anyway, because I’m a home-renovation junkie, I’m excited to share a fun little design sweepstakes sponsored by Apartment Guide.
“Your Picks. Your Place.” Sweepstakes
From now until August 14, you can visit YourPicksYourPlace.com to vote {once per day} for your favorite room design showcasing furniture and home décor items selected by featured bloggers.
Unfortunately they don’t have a kitchen round, but the voting is currently open for some pretty sweet bedroom designs… like the one featured below.
By voting, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize or one of eight $250 weekly prizes to decorate your own home. You can also find design and décor tips from Apartment Guide, and featured bloggers to help you design a room that’s uniquely you.
And while we’re on the topic of home renovations, decorating, and design, I figured we might as well include a fun giveaway…
Like a $100 Target gift card so you can purchase a few new things for your home!

Apartment Guide and owner Consumer Source, Inc. partnered with me to promote the “Your Picks. Your Place. Sweepstakes.” As part of that program, I received compensation. They did not tell me what to say about the products used, and believe that consumers and bloggers are free to form their own opinions and share them in their own words. Consumer Source’s policies align with WOMMA Ethics Code, FTC guidelines and social media engagement recommendations. The winner of this giveaway will be randomly chosen and gift card fulfillment will be handled by a third party.

I get a lot of ideas from the blogs I read (like yours)! I haven’t started Pinterest yet, so that may be the next thing.

As of yesterday, I’ve been finding my inspiration on Pinterest! I love the site and can’t wait to start using some of the ideas I’ve been finding for my new home. The internet is definitely the fastest way to find ideas, THEN head to stores.
Just started following you on Pinterest, love your ideas ๐

While I’ve been getting some ideas from pinterest, I really like Sarah from “Sarah’s House”–on HGTV. She uses a lot of neutrals and solid colors, then throws in prints to liven things up. And she’s all about functionality.

My design inspiration comes from my Mama! She has a great eye for the Southern-inspired, classic look. My husband says our apartment is the “most Southern” on campus at our seminary. ๐

I love to tour model homes to see a lot of design inspiration! But, since that doesn’t happen too often, I do go to Pinterest a lot and occasionally like to go to IKEA or look at their website. The design inspiration I’m looking for on Pinterest is trying to create a craft space/office space in our place and I’m loving the idea of a cabinet that can be closed to keep the toddler out!

I voted! I love looking at designs, I am not much of a designer, but enjoy getting inspiration from magazines, websites, books. My husband and I added on our house and it took time to agree and decide how we wanted everything. Its hard to think about and plan what you want for your house when not realizing the future! Meaning we added on an entry way and now with 2 small children we wish we would of added a mud room! ๐

I get inspiration from crate & barrel and pottery barn magazines. Pinterst has even helpful too ๐
Jennifer Keuse says
I find design inspiration from Pottery Barn magazines, anything from the Colonial period (homes, museums, etc. . .) and anything English (Jane Austin movies, books and magazines).

I’ve recently found Pinterest, but somehow there’s so much there it gets a little overwhelming.. I’m more drawn to fabric websites, and I drool over blogs and Country Living magazine, always looking for more ways to make my dog/cat centric home cozy for people, too!

I usually observe friends’ homes and see what is on clearance or in the thrift stores. I like to work around one piece like an old chest with the colors in the painted pattern.
