It’s Labor Day weekend — and for Dave and me, that almost always means some sort of painting project. The Home Depot always has a great rebate on Behr paint {my favorite paint} so we usually stock up on plain white paint and then have it tinted later as we decide on color choices.

This year, we’re painting our kitchen walls and ceiling, a bunch of trim, and our front entryway.

I just LOVE how a fresh coat of paint totally transforms a room (or a piece of furniture) for less than $30! What an inexpensive, and relatively simple project, especially for those of us who enjoy painting.

And even if you don’t love painting, but you do it anyway because you’re too cheap to pay a professional, I’ve got a fun painting tool that will make your life just a little easier…

    I have also wrapped my paintbrushes in heavy duty tinfoil and ‘froze’ them when stopping midstream in a project. BUT this clever cover is great!

    Painting sealant on to the wooden gate to our yard is our next home project. Out here in Phoenix the sun does bad things to wood if you don’t keep up with this! My parents own a lot of rental properties and are always painting something. I would love some of these covers to give to them!

    We too are in the middle of a kitchen renovation. We still have to finish painting the cabinets and walls (both in the kitchen and living room as they share walls), plus primer and paint all the trim in the house. We could definitely use a better way of preserving our paint brushes as they are getting a lot of use!

    My next home project is so big that I’m not doing it. Any minute now the crew will come to re-sod my front yard! In the mean time I’ll be relocating my master bath towel ring which means touch up paint… and might tempt me to repaint my master bath altogether. 😉

    I NEED a paint brush cover!!! I always use plastic baggies! I always doing painting projects… I just did my piano, bbq grill and a couple of plant stands. Next will be my porch swing 🙂

    We just finished our fireplace after a year of having that not completed. We removed the railing off our deck and have some repairs to do there….then, my wish is to get a set of wall-to-wall bookcases built in the computer room.
