One thing I’ve always said is that I won’t let my kids have too many toys — LOL!
Obviously, I know in the back of my head that I really won’t have total control over how many toys my children end up with — especially if other people buy them the toys 🙂
However, I’ve always had a weakness for wooden toys — and specifically wooden blocks. Nora already has 2 full sets of wooden blocks… but that didn’t stop my from oooing and aaahing over these absolutely gorgeous blocks from the Sincerely Abi Etsy Shop.
I suppose I like wooden toys because they fit my “farmhouse style”, they are timeless, they are more quality than plastic, and they usually don’t have a gazillion little pieces that will get lost or broken.
And these handmade wooden blocks are just the cream of the crop in my opinion… they are all so unique.
Abi hand-makes them, each with different colorful paper and a gorgeous distressed finish. They look like they could have been my grandma’s blocks!
I can’t wait for Nora to get a little older so she can start playing with all her blocks.
Aren’t they just adorable!
If you share my love of wooden toys, then make sure you enter today’s giveaway… and you’ll also want to check out Abi’s blog for lots more craft inspiration!

Blocks seem to be a staple toy for all young children to have. My son has loved playing with some hand me down blocks and Legos, but these would be much cuter for my little 9 mo. old girl. Thanks!
Renee says
My favorite toys are also the blocks as well as legos. Both bring out a lot of creativity in kids.

I love any wooden toys for my nine month old son! I feel as if they last longer, don’t sound so bad when he throws them on the floor and have even stood the test of my two labs who “steal” his toys from him! ๐

I love our Schleich animals–they are so realistic and the kids love them–from my 1 year old to my 6 year old. Love wooden toys too, though.

My favorite toys aren’t toys at all! Right now, my 2 year old is fascinated and happy for hours with a damp washcloth. Go figure!

I love the Johnny Jump Up; it’s great for keeping my seven month old entertained for 15 minutes while I do crafts or exercise.
I think my daughter loves her pink stuffed monkey that her daycare teachers got her for Valentine’s Day. I’m not a pink person, but my daughter smiles so big at that soft monkey.

I love Melissa and Doug toys… I think my favorites are the ones that are like wooden paper dolls, where you can dress up a person as a firefighter, policeman, ballerina, etc.

Right now our favorite toys are the little colorful links! They’re great to attach to other toys or just play with on their own. My little guy loves hanging on to them, waving them aroudn and putting them in his mouth!

My favorite children’s toy is the exersaucer – those pre-crawling days made my daughter love this, too! It may take up a lot of space, but it’s totally worth it.
Amber says
My favorite children’s toy is simple book. They read them over and over and we always add new stuff from our imagination to make them extra interesting. I like you on FB.

Wow! Those are absolutely adorable!
Danielle H. says
My favorite children’s toy is my daughter’s shape sorter. It is in the shape of a house and she loves it. Even though she is only 13 months old, she plays with it for 20 minutes at a time.
Deb says
My favorite toy for my daughter was blocks…FOAM blocks…Once you get past the ‘everything in the mouth’ stage comes the ‘build a tower and knock it down’ stage. And there’s the ‘I’m frustrated so I’m throwing something’ stage. Foam blocks are much less dangerous to furniture, TVs, and people! Also, the foam blocks are big so they create large structures pretty quickly.
Kate says
We’ve yet to buy our little one any toys, yet somehow she has a closet full! Her favorite right now (at four months) is a Lamaze firefly toy.
Mel says
I totally agree about the wooden toys. My son has a wooden train set and it is in great condition. I just love its durability (boys can be rough on things). Love these blocks, so beautiful.
