One thing I’ve always said is that I won’t let my kids have too many toys — LOL!

Obviously, I know in the back of my head that I really won’t have total control over how many toys my children end up with — especially if other people buy them the toys 🙂

However, I’ve always had a weakness for wooden toys — and specifically wooden blocks. Nora already has 2 full sets of wooden blocks… but that didn’t stop my from oooing and aaahing over these absolutely gorgeous blocks from the Sincerely Abi Etsy Shop.

I suppose I like wooden toys because they fit my “farmhouse style”, they are timeless, they are more quality than plastic, and they usually don’t have a gazillion little pieces that will get lost or broken.

And these handmade wooden blocks are just the cream of the crop in my opinion… they are all so unique.

Abi hand-makes them, each with different colorful paper and a gorgeous distressed finish. They look like they could have been my grandma’s blocks!

I can’t wait for Nora to get a little older so she can start playing with all her blocks.

Aren’t they just adorable!

    My favorite toy growing up was my glow worm. In fact my friend just received one as a baby shower gift and it took all I had not to break that thing out of the box lol

    I remember playing ‘kitchen’ when growing up & my boys love to do the same with kid-sized bowls, mugs, plates & utensils. These blocks are AmAZing!

    I loved Legos growing up. I loved building things that creating my own house that I would decorate with furniture I made.

    I am a pedaitric physical therapist, so I work with toys a fair amount during my day. I love almost any wooden toy. I also do like V-tech toys, because for some of my kids with significant physical limitations, they can manage to activate the toys independently, which is so motivating for them.

    I love these blocks! My favorite toy was my toy kitchen. The cupboards also doubled as bunk beds when we were playing Brady Bunch!

    My favorite children’s toys (for me, a long time ago) were Barbies. For my boys (not so long ago) were trucks and Ninja Turtles – things that didn’t have lots of parts to lose.

    Our favorite toys are Viking Scandinavian Toys. My son loves their all natural, eco-friendly cars and trucks. 🙂

    Right now with my first grandbaby (16mo’s), I like empty oatmeal containers besides bringing back memories for me he likes to play with them too. They become places where he drops things in and takes them out over and over again . They become drums and stackable toys that can get mighty tall . He like to put the lids on then tries to take them off . I hope someday he will have his grandbabys play with empty oatmeal containers and say, now that bring back memories of my grandma Susie.

    I love love love the OLD fashioned big wooden building blocks. The kind we had in school. Nowadays all I can find. are “wood grain” look blocks…made out of sponge material. Blech.
