DISCLAIMER — If you have vast amounts of extra time and money, you probably don’t need to read this post!
I LOVE saving money and finding great deals — I think it’s in my blood! However, I also value my time and try to only spend time on things that are important to me and my family.
Sometimes, I am able to save both time and money, other times I have to choose what is more important, saving time OR saving money.
One area of my life that saves me a lot of money, but requires a regular chunk of time, is clipping coupons. I look forward to clipping coupons every Sunday afternoon, but I still have to monitor how much time I spend on this activity… and if it’s worth my time to search for every single deal available. {By the way…it’s not.}
So if you are looking for great coupons but don’t have a lot of time, join the club…and check out the resources below!

Hey Andrea,
I know you’re not specifically a coupon blog, but you’re my favorite one so I thought I’d ask you anyways :). I am getting super frustrated with couponing because it seems like my Red Plum and Smart Source don’t have the same coupons that coupon bloggers refer to. Are RP and SS region-specific? I should also mention that my RP and SS come from a free source called Save Now from Suburban Journals.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Erica, I’m not sure where you live {and you’re right, I’m not a coupon blog} but I do think those coupons COULD be region-specific sometimes. We get our RP and SS coupons from our local Sunday paper — but sometimes they are different from the coupons I see in coupon databases.
Also, our area does NOT double or triple coupons, so I can’t ever participate in those deals either — and I think the value of coupons has been going down over the past few years {I used to get $1.00 off yogurt coupons and now I only get $0.30 or $0.40} I’m still saving by using coupons… but it’s definite not like what it used to be!
Hope this helps a little!

I love that you mention you need to figure out which is more important: time or money. Some weeks that are hectic, the time is worth more, and I’ve realized that recently. I did my best just to get the Sunday coupons and use one store’s ad. Other weeks, I can shop around to several stores and get on coupons.com and other sites and stock up. That’s one thing I’ve learned through couponing is that we can’t always keep up our regular pace.

If I ever decide to get into the coupon thing, I’ll come here first. Right now, the only coupons I really use are Seventh Generation (accessible on their website).
