Yesterday I read a great blog post over at ohamanda.com.
Amanda talked about “bringing the awesome” to everything we do and encouraged us to focus on doing ONE task really well instead of doing everything half-heartedly.
Good advice, huh?
For example, when I’m working, I should just focus on “bringing the awesome” to my work. When, I’m talking on the phone, I should just focus on “bringing the awesome” to my conversation…not trying to do 437 other things at the same time.
So last night, I decided that I should really try NOT to multi-task as much.
And then this happened…
.
That’s my kitchen island…
.
I’m in the middle of making mini cakes for my G.E.M.S. Cake Decorating badge tomorrow night, drawing up plans for our bathroom renovations, folding laundry, organizing my tax paperwork, blogging, and eating lunch!!
Ooooooopps!
Thanks for the inspiration Amanda — I guess there’s always tomorrow!

I’m the same way–my island is always full of stuff. But lately I’ve felt the need to sloooow down. To focus and to do things RIGHT.
Thanks for the link to my post! You’re AWESOME. 🙂

Story of my life!! It’s part of what we do as women, mom’s, and being a wife. Our work is never done!! Which in my book I consider a good thing….it’s “job security”!

Good point! Dave would be lost without me — and he knows it too!

I can definitely relate to this. Sometimes I think I have a little bit of ADD, because I can’t seem to stay focused on one task long enough to get it done. I prefer ADD to the alternative – Old Age…but who knows? Now, what was I doing before I read this post?

Oh, my! It’s good to know that there are other people who do the same as I do. I always have multiple things going….sometimes that’s good and sometimes not. Sigh. Good luck keeping up with your projects and clearing off your counters! I should go do the same…

There are just SO many things I want to do {and a lot more that I “have” to do} — multi-tasking is just such a time saver for me.
Oh, and my counters are all cleared off!!
