Remember my recipe for really simple, homemade bread?
I posted it two weeks ago and raved about how quick and easy it was to make up a batch of bread dough, put it in the fridge, and then use it to bake fresh bread for the rest of the week.
Well, it’s been two more weeks, and I’m still making nearly all of our bread, rolls, pizza crusts, etc. from scratch using the Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day cookbook I discussed over here.
But now I’ve advanced to Cinnamon Rolls!
Super easy, homemade, Maple Pecan Sticky Rolls to be exact!
They are absolutely delicious…and just as easy as the homemade bread!
First, you mix up the maple/caramel topping and spread it in the bottom of a round cake pan.
- 6 T. softened butter
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
Then roll out the dough and mix up the fillings:
- 1 1/2 pound chunk of homemade bread dough {see recipe here}
- 4 T. softened butter
- 1 t. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 t. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Cut the rolled dough “log” into 8 equal pieces.
And put the pieces on top of the maple toping.
Bake at 350F. for 40 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
Eat and enjoy!
Oh, and you can print the full recipe here.

Is there no sugar in the center of the buns? It looks like there its,but you don’t say sugar in the fililng?
Melissa says
How many pounds of dough does the bread recipe make? I don’t have a scale so I need to divide it out to know how much to use to make the rolls. Thanks!

I just made the bread dough you shared and was looking for a good sticky bun recipe! I was hesitant to look at this because of the maple (can’t have) but so glad I did! These will be in the oven for tonight!

hope you love them!

We do contemplate every one of the aspects you’ve offered to your site. They’re just begging all of which will absolutely do the job. However, your content are certainly fast for beginners. Can you remember to prolong them a bit from next time? Thanks for the posting.

I also love this book, but I can’t bring myself to try anything other than the basic bread and pizza dough recipe. That is, I’m so busy eating the amazing regular bread that I haven’t had the time (or appetite) to try the dessert breads! Soon, I hope!

These look great, but I’m not seeing where the “maple” part comes in— did the recipe leave out maple extract?
Andrea says
Kelly, I figured someone would ask this question! This is just what the recipe was called in the book — so I used the same name. There is no “maple extract” in the recipe but the brown sugar and butter creates a caramel sauce that looks just like maple syrup!
