I read a lot of blog posts every week… I follow some of these blogs on Facebook or Twitter, I subscribe to some via email, and I have my phone set up so I can quickly and easily access my favorite blogs when waiting somewhere, while Dave is driving, or when I’m awake with Nora in the middle of the night!
I read some of these blogs for information {coupons, recipes, parenting tips, blogging advice}
I read some of them for inspiration {organizing, decorating, gardening, DIY ideas}
I read others because they are people I know in real life {local bloggers, friends, family}
And I read a bunch just because I like their writing styles
I certainly don’t read every blog on a daily basis… it just depends what I’m in the mood for.
I’ve received a handful of emails asking what blogs I follow… so today, I’m sharing 11 of my most favorite blogs {in alphabetical order because I’m a dork like that!}
1. A Farmgirl’s Dabbles — delicious recipes, fabulous photos, and lovely stories
2. Blogging With Amy — blogging tips and tricks; I’ve learned a lot from Amy
3. Clover Lane — when I “grow up” I want to be like Sarah
4. Deal Seeking Mom — tons of freebies and coupons
5. I Heart Organizing — so many insanely creative organizing ideas
6. Jodi Michelle — she tells stories… and she’s dang funny
7. Life… Your Way — always something new to learn, try, and think about
8. Money Saving Mom — coupons, frugal DIY ideas, fun family ideas, and more
9. Simple Mom — motivational and encouraging simple-living tips and ideas
10. The Anderson Crew — they have 6 kids and every day is an adventure
11. Young House Love — I’m still amazed at how they are able to transform a house
I also feel it’s worth mentioning that I chose 11 because it’s a nice number — and because these are honestly the blogs I read on a very regular basis.
I realize I’m leaving lots of people out — but my intentions are not to hurt anyone’s feelings. There are thousands of amazing blogs out there and I frequently read through many other blogs that are not on my list above.
However, since I’m trying to keep things simple, I decided to only share my “top 11”.
Do you follow any of these blogs?
Do you have any others you’d like to share with me and other readers?
Chris says
Are these still your favorite blogs? Would you consider doing a new post if you have new favorites?
Andrea says
Hi Chris!
I wrote this post over a decade ago, so unfortunately, many of these blogs aren’t even in existence anymore! That said, I do still enjoy keeping up with Clover Lane, Money Saving Mom, and Young House Love!

Big fan of Mandi’s blog which I got to know via Simple Mom. I browse through Amy’s blog… the other favourite along with Simple Organize Living is Small Notebook. I think both blogs have direct style of writing and usually packed with very very useful tips!
Great to learn of other blogs… Thanks for sharing!

I LOVE your blog and Clover Lane! Both at the top of my list…..I also enjoy House Tweaking, Enjoying the Small things and Finding my Feet and Putapuredukes. There are so many amazing people out there! :-). I actually made your chicken mango salsa recipe in the slow cooker last night and loved it. I wish I was as organized as I should be reading these blogs, Ha!

I love to read “Frugal Queen” and “Life After Money”. These are both British blogs and so fun to read. I like the frugal aspect of their blogs and it is interesting to read because their language is slightly different than our American blogs.

I also read I Heart Organizing and Money Saving Mom. I love them!! I will have to check out the others that you listed. ๐
Another fave of mine is Becky Higgins! Project Life (paper and/or digital version of scrapbooking) is such an awesome idea. So quick and easy to get our photos and memories into scrapbooks! Love it! Becky has lots of other free stuff on her website as well…decorating around the house, recipes, DIY, organization, photography, and so on. ๐

The first blog I started following was “Life and My Finances.” Derek is from West Michigan as well! He actually inspired me to start my own blog and I’ve learned a lot about finances from him.
I also love “See Debt Run.” Michelle & Jefferson have a busy life with kids and they share a lot of life stories that I’m sure will come my way when kids enter the picture.

Two of my favorite blogs are http://www.MelanieInTheMiddle.com (not only is she hilarious but I love her writing style and honesty) and http://www.JonAcuff.com (he’s very inspirational).
