Last week at this time, I was in Chicago for the 2011 Home and Housewares Show.
I was there to learn all about the new Hoover products, but I also had plenty of time to brows through the THOUSANDS of other companies and products.
There are SO many cool new products hitting the shelves this spring — I can’t wait to try them all out. In the meantime, I’ll just tell you a little bit about my favorites…and let you drool!
1. Hoover’s New Max Multi-Cyclonic:
I already told you about the other REALLY cool Hoover and Dirt Devil products…but I wanted to “save the best for last”. This is Hoover’s newest vacuum and it will be coming out in store later this year.
I could probably go on and on about all the great features, but for now, I’ll simply say that it’s the best, it has a TON of totally awesome features, and I’ll hopefully be trying it out in my own home later this year. {I’ll give you the full review then!}
2. Kitchen Aid Mixers:
I know, these aren’t new…but just look at them! Gorgeous!
I have the gray one {because I’m obsessed with neutral colors} but I’m definitely attracted to their new metallic collection too…so pretty!
3. EarthPan:
Lately, I have been doing a lot of research about pot and pan safety because I keep hearing how “bad” the Teflon and non-stick pans are. And even though I LOVE the look of stainless steal, they are more difficult to clean and I really don’t want to give Dave any reason NOT to do the dishes!!
However, I came across the EarthPan — and I think it might just be a perfect mix between the two.
Not only do these pans look absolutely gorgeous, they are also completely non-stick, dishwasher safe, and they have no toxic fumes, no PFOA, no PTFE, and no blistering or peeling! Plus, they’re really affordable! I believe the EarthPan collection is available wherever major kitchen brands are sold.
4. Aladdin Products:
It’s official, I am OBSESSED with every product this company offers — every single one!
Aladdin has been around since 1908 and is the creator of the original character lunch boxes you remember as a kid! Over 100 years later, they now have a hugely expanded product line of all kinds of lunch related items, beverage containers, and food storage products.
The main reason I love their products so much is because they are sustainable, stylish, and functional.
One of my favorite Aladdin products is this small 12 oz watter bottles. They are the perfect size for any purse or bag because they aren’t too heavy. Plus they are dishwasher safe, BPA free, and ONLY $7.99!!
And I can’t wait to tell you about their new lunch collection that should be hitting store shelves later this year. Seriously, I know you are going to LOVE it as much as I do!
5. Grayline Organizing Products:
There were hundreds of different companies with all kinds of organizing products, but I was drawn to Grayline because of their huge line of inexpensive cabinet and drawer organizers {I’m a sucker for drawer organizers!}
Grayline is a subsidiary of Panacea Products Corporation — a family owned company for over 40 years. And even though you probably won’t see the brand “Grayline” in most stores, their products are all available at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Target, and other similar stores.
Along with their huge line of organizing products, they also offer home & garden products, and even craft products.
I told the Grayline representative that I should probably buy stock in his company because of all the products I purchase!
6. Michael Graves Squeegee:
OK, so the real reason I stopped at this booth was to look at the huge wall of cleaning products…I just couldn’t help myself!
But then I came across this awesome Michael Graves Squeegee {which is seriously the best squeegee I’ve ever used}. Plus, I found out that all Michael Graves products are available at Target!
7. Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Products:
Oh, I just LOVE Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day products!
Here’s why…
Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day products provide an effective alternative for people who are concerned with the environmental effects of conventional cleaning products. Our formulas combine natural essential oils with leading-edge cleaning know-how to provide an enjoyable, safe experience for our customers. — Quote from their website
Believe it or not, there really is a “Mrs. Meyer” — you can see her video clip here.
And if you want to try your own Mrs. Myer’s cleaning product, they’re running a 20% off sale until March 20 — hurry!
8. Oliso Smart Iron and Vacuum-Sealed Food Storage Bags:
Yup, the same company makes an amazing steam iron AND awesome vacuum-sealed food storage bags.
Dave does all the ironing around our house…and he doesn’t like our iron. So I told him that he can have this new smart iron if I can have the food storage bags! {Sounds like a pretty good deal to me!}
So I’m really interested in trying both of these products, and if I do, I’ll make sure to report back with my opinions. In the mean time, head on over to the Oliso website to learn all about these fun new products!
9. Innovia Automatic Towel Dispenser::
Yes, you read that right! Innovia Home has come out with a super sleek, stainless steal, automatic paper towel dispenser!
Their booth was a huge hit because they offered me a gooey chocolate chip cookie — which then made my hands messy and allowed me to try out their hands-free paper towel dispenser.
It’s a tad modern for our home, but seriously — this thing is cool! It’s basically like the motion-censored dispensers in public restrooms… but SO much prettier.
Plus, it’s really smart. It can sense {and remember} if you’re using small or large sheets of paper towel and it will automatically spit out the right amount. And if you don’t use all the paper towel, it will simply “suck it back in” within a few seconds!
10. Semco Products:
This was honestly a company that I had never heard of before…but I was really impressed with their amazing product line. They have so many great organizing tools and household products — and they are all so sleek and stylish.
But the ONE product I was most excited about is this…
It’s an Ear Bud Cord Organizer!!
See how I used it to wind up the ear bud cord so neat and organize? Yup, we’re going to need a few more of these!
.
So obviously, there were hundreds of amazing products at the 2011 Home and Housewares show, but these are just a few that immediately caught my eye.
I’m certain ALL of these products will help me simplify and organize my life — so I wanted to share them with you too!
Do you use any of these products already?
If not, which ones would you just LOVE to try?

Question, as I am in the market for a new washer/dryer what brand do you highly recommend? I am a Mom of 4, 3 of them are teenagers, so there is lots of wash all the time!! Just discovered a flood in my washer days before Christmas!! Would love a good recommendation!
Thank you!
Jill

Hi Jill, I don’t think I’m in the position to “highly recommend” any washers or dryers. I don’t particularly love the ones we have in our current house and I didn’t love the ones we had in our old house. I have no other experience with washers and dryers — so I definitely don’t want to recommend something I’ve never tried. Sorry!

Where do you get Mrs Meyers cleaners? I’m excited to try a new and environmentally friendly spray.
I WANT and NEED those ear bud organizers!! Great find.
Andrea says
Celeni, you can get Mrs. Meyers at Target, Walmart, and many other grocery stores. Or of course on Amazon.com or other similar online shopping sites.

Do you have any advice about washer and dryers? As you know, I just moved. We did not bring our W&D with us from our old house {bad idea}. After moving in, I realized that the delicate & perm. press cycles did not work. Therefore, I was using normal cycle only which did work. Just yesterday, it made a terrible sound when I was running it in the morning and it became really loud after that. Service guy came out this morning. He said it is ca-put! The transmission died and it is old, so not able to replace parts. I need to go washer only OR washer & dryer shopping this later this week with my hubby and I’d love any insight you might have.
THANK YOU!
Nicole

Nicole, I would most definitely check out Craigslist first — and then the scratch and dent sales at many appliance places. You can find amazing deals.
If you do buy brand new, I would definitely do your research. We have brand new stackable front-loading machines in our new house — and I honestly don’t love them. I’d trade them for my old top-loaders in a second. So make sure you know what you want before you buy.

How about a METALLIC PINK Kitchen Aid mixer!!!!!! Lovin’ that color!!!
And the ear bug organizers… not tchotchke- brilliant!!! I have about 400 ear buds free floating in my purse wrapping themselves around everything I will reach for on any given day…
Great post.

I LOVE Mrs. Meyer’s! I use the gardenia and it smells insanely good:). And I am really excited to try the Earth Pans, I cringe every time I feed my son something cooked in my old non-sticks. Thanks for the tip!
Andrea says
Yum…I’ve only ever used the lemon scent but I might have to branch out one of these days!
Angie @ Many Little Blessings says
I have been looking for a new cleaning spray, and it looks like based on what you said and the comments, Mrs. Meyer’s is what it should be!

I love this list! Being a house cleaner, I am always on the look out for new products that work! Especially a good vacuum! 🙂 thanks!

I love cleaning my house with Mrs. Meyers … every scent is so delicious! I think I squirt things that don’t even need cleaning just to enjoy the aromatherapy!
Enjoy the day!
The Diaper Diaries says
We switched to stainless steel pans last year due to safety issues and the cleaning is only bad when we use cooking spray. Otherwise it hasn’t been difficult at all. And you can use any utensils in them so that is way easier than only being able to use plastic.
Andrea says
Thanks for the input Jill.
Have you ever heard of EarthPans? Also, do you put your stainless steel in the dishwasher? I used to never put pans in the dishwasher but now I do all the time…maybe I’m just lazy!
Brenda @ a farmgirl's dabbles says
I love Mrs. Meyer products and my Kitchen Aid mixer, even though I think I’m finally wearing out my mixer after 10+ years of use. And I think I could make good use of that ear bud cord organizer!!!
Andrea says
We’re loving those ear bud organizers…and they are only $1.99!!
Oh, and I’m SURE you do get good use out of your mixer! I should use mine more often 🙂
