I’m Closing Down My Blog… for 2 Weeks!

posted by Andrea | 07/17/2012

That’s right, I’m taking 2 full weeks off from blogging to enjoy the simplicity of summer… and the fact that Dave will only be home all day for a few more weeks.

Doesn’t it always seem like summer goes WAY too fast?Β

It does!

I won’t be posting guest blogs, reposting old content, or documenting our daily life like I did over our spring break “staycation”. There will be no giveaways or special promotions. The blog will simply sit for two weeks without updates.

Yes, I’ll probably lose a few readers and a bit of revenue, but I’m OK with that. The purpose of my blog is to help others to simplify and get more organized… so I assume I can take a bit of time to do the same πŸ™‚

I’m tired.

Really, really tired.

After 8 months caring for a fussy baby who never sleeps, managing our home, and working more than full time… I just need a break.

My hope is to get some much needed rest, cross a few things off my list, have a little fun, and come back with new energy and lots of new ideas to share here on Simple Organized Living.

I will still be active over on theΒ facebook page, so head over there if you want to stay in the loop…. otherwiseΒ I’ll see you back here in August!Β

Enjoy your vacation!!! Selfishly, I’ll miss your posts πŸ™‚ but as someone else who works “more than full time” out of her house, I totally get it! Summers in the Great Lakes are far too short and you are wise to enjoy every second. Can’t wait to see what you have to share next month

So what you’re saying is that if we want new content, we’re “SOL”? πŸ˜‰

I’ll miss your updates, but I’d rather miss SOL for two weeks than have you burn out and shut it down indefinitely. You’ll come back refreshed, with a long list of new topics you can’t wait to discuss, and we’ll all reap the benefits of your break. πŸ™‚ Yeah, I’m selfish like that. lol

Enjoy the break and the time with Dave! Nora is about to enter a really cool, challenging, but FUN stage, and you deserve to enjoy it together.

As the full time caregiver for my 81 year-old mom, I know what tired is. I am so very happy for you in recognizing a needed time-out. I will miss your posts and cannot wait until you come back. You are setting an example for those of us who really need to take time off but simply can’t or won’t. Thank you dear!

So, so many times Nora has reminded me of my 8 1/2 month old first born. I’m a lot like you, and we respond in the same way many times. I know all too well the tiredness, the fussiness, the frustration of a lack of schedule. And I wonder how you can go on. I respect your decision to take a break. Sleep, do nothing, and be refreshed! Best wishes!

Good, good good for you (and your family). You’ll be better able to care for Nora and be the best wife you can be to David for taking the time to rest. Remember, even Jesus took time away.
May your two weeks be LONG and relaxing:-)
