We love our iPad… especially Nora!
We take it almost everywhere we go as it easily fits in the diaper bag or any other bag we take with us. Plus, it’s perfect clutter-free “toy” to occupy Nora if we end up waiting longer than we thought at the doctor, if she gets antsy at one of Dave’s basketball games, or if we have a longer than normal road trip.
There are enough games, coloring books, photos, videos, and TV programs to keep her entertained for a week if need be!
Recently, I was given one of the brand new Martha Stewart iPad cases to try… and I was immediately excited as I noticed how user-friendly it was AND that it easily attached to the back of a car headrest (why didn’t someone think of that sooner!)
Out of the three of us, I use the iPad the least (if you’re wondering, Dave uses it the most) and even I was impressed with this case. It’s quite thin, but still very durable and sturdy. It’s also extremely easy to operate and adjust for increased functionality and usability.
A few more reasons we love this case:
- It’s a smart case, so it automatically turns the iPad on and off
- It quickly and easily rotates vertically and horizontally without removing the case
- It easily attaches to a car headrest
- The outside is nice soft leather but the part that actually surronds the iPad is hard — so I feel like it’s really protected
- We can easily access the camera, the volume buttons and the charging port without taking the case off (you would think this should be obvious, but this is not always the case)
- It’s very sturdy, but light weight — and balances perfectly on a toddler’s lap 🙂

Without a doubt, my iPad is my link to the everyday events of my two grand daughters (age 3 and 5). Through this, they can “face time Nana” or I can call and just chat with the girls. If we had to rely on phones or visits, I don’t think they would know me as well or that I would be able to see them growing up from babies to little girls! It was the best money I ever spent!

Although there are many ways I love to use my iPad, the most versatile is for recipes and cooking! I usually PIN my recipes to organize them and then prop the iPad on the kitchen island when I am cooking and/or baking to follow the directions or videos. How fun!

My favorite uses for my iPad right now are looking up sign language and Spanish translations for teaching my son and keeping in touch with distant family and friends playing Words with Friends! Wow…how do we NOT use our iPad. We only have one for the 6 of us that are in our family. Games of course. We’ve been experimenting with recipe apps. We are looking into eBooks. Never tried it but my husband is really interested in finding out more. (any helps there would be great. But one of the biggest things we use it for…is basketball!!! Not playing games, but actual keeping stats and showing how to run plays and such. We love basketball here!!!
