UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed.
Congrats to: Kara (karamullinix@…)
If you’ve ever done any type of home renovation project, you’ve probably thumbed through piles of magazines, scoured the Internet, and walked the isles of home improvement stores searching for inspiration and ideas.
Or maybe I’m the only one!
I absolutely LOVE reading about other people’s ideas, learning helpful tips and tricks, drooling over amazing before and after pictures, seeing the lastest products, and dreaming of what my house might look like if I implemented even just a few of the ideas in my ideas book or in my array of Pinterest boards.
So as you can imagine, I’ve been doing lots of “research” for our kitchen renovation… which means I spend a fair amount of time each week searching for new ideas, looking for deals on products we want to buy, and drooling over all things “kitchen”.
Don’t tell Dave, he thinks I’m always working when I’m at my computer 🙂
Anyway, because I’m a home-renovation junkie, I’m excited to share a fun little design sweepstakes sponsored by Apartment Guide.
“Your Picks. Your Place.” Sweepstakes
From now until August 14, you can visit YourPicksYourPlace.com to vote {once per day} for your favorite room design showcasing furniture and home décor items selected by featured bloggers.
Unfortunately they don’t have a kitchen round, but the voting is currently open for some pretty sweet bedroom designs… like the one featured below.
By voting, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize or one of eight $250 weekly prizes to decorate your own home. You can also find design and décor tips from Apartment Guide, and featured bloggers to help you design a room that’s uniquely you.
And while we’re on the topic of home renovations, decorating, and design, I figured we might as well include a fun giveaway…

Apartment Guide and owner Consumer Source, Inc. partnered with me to promote the “Your Picks. Your Place. Sweepstakes.” As part of that program, I received compensation. They did not tell me what to say about the products used, and believe that consumers and bloggers are free to form their own opinions and share them in their own words. Consumer Source’s policies align with WOMMA Ethics Code, FTC guidelines and social media engagement recommendations. The winner of this giveaway will be randomly chosen and gift card fulfillment will be handled by a third party.

My design inspiration comes from my “Designing Women” friends. These girlfriends of mine have more style in their pinky than I have in fifteen of me! So, I see what they have, decide which things I really like, and find a way to make them mine.

I get my inspiration from other blogs, honestly. Home decor magazines kind of make me roll my eyes because they are sometimes so impractically perfect. But blogs are written by real people with real lives and usually real kids and if they can make their homes beautiful on a budget, I know I can too!

I just moved into a new house at the beginning of July, and I got the inspiration for most of the rooms from a single piece of artwork that my best friend painted for me. I chose my colors, patterns, and other artwork throughout the house to compliment and highlight the painting. For specific accents and furniture, I used Pinterest to help me visualize what I wanted.

i think most of my inspiration comes from outdoors, and from pinterest– because i use a lot of neutrals with pops of color, and accessories that can go from room to room. i would love this gift card to help as we’re decorating a baby’s room on a budget!
