Today is Dave’s birthday (he’s 31 — which is much older than me!) so in honor his birthday, I’m sharing one of HIS favorite organizing tools.

First of all, I do know that I’m extremely lucky to have a very clean, neat, and organized husband. And even though I take some of the credit for helping him to be more organized… I will also admit that he’s been neat and organized from the day I met him.

He’s actually so organized that he makes his own planner every year to use for school, coaching, and all his many other activities (looks like we are both quite particular about our planners!)

This summer, as he was preparing to head back to school, I got a package in the mail with a few Duo 7-Pocket Accordion File Binders.  I was immediately intrigued by the binders because they were essentially two organizing tools in one compact unit.

I showed Dave (who was equally impressed) and the next thing I knew, he had “stolen” the Duo binders from my side of the desk and proceeded to fill them with his homemade planner, school papers, student council information, coaching plans, etc.

My new organizing tools were gone — and I wasn’t going to get them back!

    I would use it for my homeschooling organization. I homeschool my 4 children and am a tutor at a homeschool coop. I will be looking for this in the stores as well. What a really awesome organizing tool.

    I have children with special needs. It would be so nice to keep a chronological history in the binder with all the current events and procedures in the accordian and still have only one book to lug around to doctors and meetings.

    I would use them for organizing our finances. I was doing it on the computer, but when I had to take my computer in to get worked on, I forgot to print anything off, so I had to start back over on paper for the 3 weeks. I’m still in process of figuring out how to organize it on paper.

    I would totally use this for my volunteering activities…you know one for Girl Scouts, one for Parent Room mom, one for church committees. I could also see using these to organize household stuff like our taxes – I could keep all the receipts and notes in one place! I totally need one or two or three or five of these!!     This would be perfect for my volunteering paperwork at church! I lead a club for families with children between 4 – 10 years old, plus I organize events for kids. I’m constantly carrying papers with me between home, work, church, on the road (to work on while my husband is driving), etc.

    This would also be a great gift for the other volunteers in my team. Thank you for the great idea! Now I know what to buy for them, as an appreciation gift for Christmas!!!

    I would use the Duo binder for my daily planner! I always have my task sheet for the day, plus several lists/projects I am planning and other papers stacked and shuffled around all day. THIS would help SO much!
