UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed.
Congrats to: Amy (apcoffey@…)
When I got married, I received a really nice set of pots and pans… and over the past 6 1/2 years, I’ve used a few of those pans every week (if not every day). There are a few more that I use occasionally, and there’s one that I’ve honestly NEVER used!
I like the idea of getting a complete set of pans (especially for wedding gifts and new home owners). However, based on the way I cook, it’s smarter for me to spend a bit more money buying only the pans that I use every day — and then save cabinet space by not storing the ones I don’t use!
I’ve done a good job of paring down my pots and pans to a reasonable amount — and I honestly do use every pot and pan in my cabinet. I promise 🙂
However, if I could only pick 2 pans to cook with for the rest of my life, I would pick:
- a medium size covered sauce pan
- a medium size covered frying pan
Yes, I would definitely miss the rest of my pots and pans, but most of the food I cook could be made in these two pans (pasta, sauces, meat, grilled sandwiches, small batches of soup, etc)
Since I use these 2 pans all the time, the ones that came with my wedding set were starting to show quite a bit of wear and tear. So I was thrilled when Anolon offered to replace these two pans for me… and even more excited that they also want to share my two favorite pans as a giveaway 🙂
1. Anolon Nouvelle Copper Stainless Steel 9.5-inch “Everything Pan”
This pan really is an “everything pan”. You can use it for everything from grilled cheese sandwiches, to vegetable stir fry, chicken parmesan, casseroles, and more.
Personally, I LOVE that is doesn’t have a long handle like a traditional frying pan (because it takes up less room in my cabinet). I also love that it can go from the stovetop right into the oven — which means Dave has fewer dishes to wash 🙂
2. Anolon Chef Clad 3 Qt. Covered Saucepan
My old 3 qt. saucepan was totally shot because I used it so much. And while I still plan to use my new Anolon sauce pan just as often, I think it should hold up a little better because it’s really heavy-duty.
I love that it has a tempered glass lid so I can see if my water is boiling (or if the potatoes are ready to boil over), I love that it has a nice big handle that I can grab even with an oven mitt, and I love that it’s dishwasher safe!
If you don’t have a favorite pot or pan yet, then let me share mine with you — I’m pretty sure you’ll fall in love with them too!

I have to agree with you about the medium saucepan and medium frying pan. Mine have seen a lot of use and I have been looking into hopefully replacing them soon.

I like the medium frying pan for sautéing fresh veggies.

I agree with you about the medium sauce pan and a medium frying pan; I could do all my cooking with these two, as well. Hopefully I win this giveaway, as my pots and pans are also showing a lot of wear and tear after 5 years! Thanks!

I would have a hard time narrowing down to 1 favorite pot — but I’m with you — I have a covered one and then a skillet type one I like too.

I love my 12″ cast iron skillet. I love any pan that I can use on the stove top as well as the oven. We use it so much that many times I just leave the clean skillet on the range so that it will be ready for use.
Nicola says
I love my large non-stick skillet. I could really use some new pots and/or pans, though. I love to cook!

I have a hammered covered stock pot that I use two to three times a week. It was a hand me down from my MIL. It’s great for soups, stews, spaghetti, and the like. It browns meat great, and then I just add the other ingredients. I love it, and it’s at least 30 years old.

I like both Simple Organized Living and Anolon on Facebook. My favorite pan is my 14 inch La Creuset frying pan in flame gold color. We got it at a yard sale for $7 brand new! Most awesome pan ever. Now, I confess, I thought hey these are neat pans, I should try to win them for my niece who is moving into her first apartment, but then I looked closer at the pans….they look so awesome….maybe little niece-y-poo would like some of my old pots and pans? Hehehe. Thanks for the chance to win. Peace!

In order to enter the possibility of winning those wonderful pans, I want to comment that my favorite pan is a Chinese Wok. We live in the UK sharing the Good News with Chinese International students, and so we use the wok an awful lot.
I really enjoy reading your site, it gives me the warm fuzzies of home while living away from home.
Blessings to you!

I love tiny stainless steel stir-fry pan that I got in Ikea a year ago. It is super smooth and I’ve never had an incident of food sticking to the bottom! Like any wistful homemaker, I’ve always set my eyes on Anolon but never had the guts to spend a few bucks more for that. This would be so ideal! *desperate prayers*
