Hydrangea Love

posted by Andrea | 07/9/2011 | 9 comments

Many of you already know about my obsession with old farmhouses! I’ve dreamed of living in one for as long as I can remember. And one of the many things I love about our old farmhouses is the mature landscaping. Even though our yard is not nearly as nice as it could be, I have fallen in love with the HUGE hydrangea bushes on the north side of our house. They are absolutely stunning and currently in full bloom! Do […]

Craigslist 101: What You Need to Get Started

posted by Andrea | 07/8/2011 | 5 comments

source: I’ve received a lot of positive feedback from the first few posts in my Craigslist 101 Series; but I’ve also received even more questions! One of the questions I’ve gotten a few times is, “What do I need to get started selling my stuff on Craigslsit?” My answer is, “Not Much!” That is the beauty of Craigslsit! What You Need to Get Started:: 1. TIME: If you don’t have the time to post your items, the time to respond to emails and questions, […]

My Summer Organizing Projects

posted by Andrea | 07/7/2011 | 5 comments

Summer is in full swing, and depending on where you live, it might just be too hot to venture outside during the middle of the day. We’ve had several hot, humid, summer days already and the weather forecast shows several more to come over the next few weeks. So I’m taking advantage of my time indoors {with the air conditioning on} to tackle a few organizing projects this summer. Here are a few projects I’ve already finished or still plan […]

No-Bake Summer Recipes

I don’t know about you, but during the hot summer months, I’m all about making simple dinners that don’t require much cooking — at least not in the oven. I like using simple ingredients, a crock pot, a frying pan, the grill, and the microwave. And on really hot days, we make sandwiches or salads! Here are some of the recent no-bake recipes that I’ve made or plan to make yet this summer. How Do You Remember?

posted by Andrea | 07/5/2011 | 16 comments

I write everything down… I mean everything. I’ve been in the habit of making lists {lots of lists} and writing out my tasks every day since middle school — maybe even before. And now I’m hooked! I do NOT like to forget, so by writing things down, I rarely forget. However, I sometimes feel like I’m not doing a great job of training my brain to remember on its own — does that make sense? I don’t have to remember phone […]

Meet our Baby…Girl!

posted by Andrea | 07/4/2011 | 14 comments

Well, she’s not quite here yet… but after TWO separate ultrasounds {yup, she’s stubborn already} Dave and I are thrilled to announce that we will be having a little girl in about four months! Add her to the two female international students we’ll be hosting this school year, and Dave will officially be outnumbered 4-to-1. He better get used to pink! And here’s my bump at about 21 weeks.   Anyone getting rid of baby girl items that would be appropriate for a […]

Fourth of July Favorites from Around the Web

source: I absolutely LOVE four-day holiday weekends! That extra day just seems to make the weekend last forever {which comes in handy if you have a bunch of house projects to finish!} However, this weekend, Dave and I will NOT be doing any house projects. We are currently on our way to Chicago for a wedding and then headed to Wisconsin to visit his relatives for a few days. It should be a busy {but fun} long weekend… and I hear his Grandma’s […]

A Nursery Closet Design

posted by Andrea | 07/1/2011 | 9 comments

Well, I’m back at it again with the design plans for our nursery closet — which is by far, the smallest closet in our entire house… so it WILL be a challenge! Our Nursery Closet: This is the current state of our nursery closet — with new doors, new trim, and a fresh coat of Bright White paint. It’s not finished yet, but we certainly have come a long way from when we moved in — YIKES!!! And one more…just for fun!   As […]
