Remember last week, when I showed you how messy our house was?
Well, this week isn’t any better….
Our wood flooring was delivered yesterday, and to my surprise, 700 sq. ft. of wide-plank wood flooring takes up a lot more space than I origionally envisioned! YIKES!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m super excited to have reclaimed barn wood for our new floors…I guess we just won’t be using our living room for the next month!
Anyway, I hope you feel a little better about your living room after seeing the mess we have going on over here!
Oh, and if you have a minute…I’d love your opinion on stain colors 🙂
What color stain should we choose?
Right now, I’m still deciding between Dark Walnut or Jacobean {both on the bottom row}.

Our flooring is gunstock and I really like it. Not too dark as to show all the dust
Verna says
Dark wood is beautiful, but my sister in law learned the hard way—dark floors show up everything–even dust! she has to sweep and mop hers every day to keep it looking nice.
Sue says
233 English chestnut.. I know it is not one of the 2 you chose.. but since it is reclaimed wood and is so beautiful.. why hide it under a dark stain.. ??

thanks Sue!
I actually tried both the dark walnut and the jacobean this weekend…and I have to agree with you. They are both too dark, so I’m headed back to get some English Chestnut!

Dark walnut – so warm and rich. One of my faves!

My husband made our bed and we stained it Jacobean. I LOVE it!

We have Jacobean and love it in our bedroom!

Jacobean. It looks more versatile to me; it has both warm and cool tones.

I like the Jacobean. Seems like it has move of a dark vein, which I think is beautiful!! Can’t wait to see it!! I have the Dark Walnut in my house and it is very nice too.
Naomi says
oooh reclaimed barnwood!! I vote for Dark Walnut.
Danielle says
Dark walnut. Jacobean looks almost black, not as inviting.

Dark Walnut!
Kate says
Dark Walnut! It’s much warmer looking and would look more inviting.
