As you know, Dave and I are smack in the middle of a huge kitchen renovation — which means our kitchen is completely unusable. Thankfully, I received a brand new Stovetop Slow Cooker from Hamilton Beach and have been using it to whip up all sorts of delicious slow cooker recipes.
My most recent recipe was chocolate cake… and was it ever good!
Recently, I’ve received quite a few questions about what I do with my half-dirty clothes — you know, the shirt you wear for part of the day and although it isn’t really “dirty”, it’s also not clean enough to put back in the closet.
I chuckle to myself whenever I read these emails and questions because this has been a topic Dave and I have debated ever since we were married. Today I’d love to know what YOU do with your half-dirty clothes.
During our kitchen renovations this summer, we turned half our home office into an apartment size kitchen. It’s REALLY small, and it has no running water — so it’s certainly not the most practical kitchen I’ve ever used… but it works!

Today is my 27th birthday… and I’m celebrating by tearing apart my kitchen!
Normally, someone might share a cake recipe on their birthday, but since I’ve never been a huge fan of cake, I’m sharing a fun {and extremely simple} treat that I absolutely LOVE. Of course I love the salty/sweet combo of the pretzels and chocolate, but I also love that I can whip up several dozen of these treats in about 5 minutes.

This past weekend, we attended a shower for my sister. She got lots of great gifts off her registry… but my other sister and I went in on a gift together and we deviated from the registry just a bit 🙂

I recently posted a potential floor plan for our new kitchen — one that Dave and I had dreamed up after quite a bit of time — and you all smashed it to smithereens!!
At first, I was completely overwhelmed with all the suggestions, but after I had a couple days to process everything (and meet with the cabinet designer)… I came up with another plan!
The other night, I was in a pinch because our plans changed at the last minute and I didn’t have dinner ready. My first reaction was just to make sandwiches or a frozen pizza, but then I remembered I had chicken and several boxes of frozen veggies.
Within minuets I whipped up this super simple and extremely delicious semi-homemade Chicken Teriyaki. It was a hit!

As many of you know, Dave and I are gearing up for a really messy kitchen renovation this summer.
I’ve been doing quite a bit of “behind the scenes” work these past few weeks… the bulk of which was designing the floor plan. It’s still not 100% set in stone, but as you’ll see by the images below, we’re adding a TON of cabinet space and creating a much more open and user-friendly place to cook, eat, and just hangout.
