Do you ever give yourself Christmas or birthday gifts?
I do!
This year, I gave myself a really neat Christmas gift — a “Michigan Home” t-shirt from The Home. T.
Isn’t it cute!
I love t-shirts, I thought the design was clever, and I really liked that a portion of each sale supports research for Multiple Sclerosis.
However, when the t-shirt came in the mail and I actually tried it on, it instantly became my most favorite t-shirt ever because it is SOOOOOOO soft. It’s also really light-weight and has just the right amount of stretch.
The Home. T. shirts are already pre-shrunk (I’m thankful for this) and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a t-shirt fit me this nicely — they are either really wide, really stiff, too short, have too long of sleeves, or have an itchy tag. Yes, I’m picky about my t-shirts!
But not The Home. T.
For those of you who read my post about canning applesauce, you may have noticed I was wearing my Michigan Home. T then… and I’ve worn it practically every day since 🙂
I emailed the founders of The Home. T. and said they should come out with a line of baby onesies or children’s t-shirts. They told me it was on their list of ideas!
Seriously, how cute would this be for a baby shower gift or even a birthday gift?
I also thought it might be a neat graduation gift for kids going off to college or a non-traditional wedding gift for a couple moving away from home.
Or of course, just a gift for yourself 🙂
They don’t have every state available yet, but if they have your state, I would highly recommend purchasing one (or several!)
Did you give yourself a gift for Christmas this year?
Oh, and if you’re interested, here’s a post about how I fold and organize all my t-shirts. And here’s another post about the t-shirt quilt I had made with many of my old high school and college t-shirts.

Andrea,
FYI home t-shirts just came out with tanks for summer! Neon blue is the limited color choice.Since you love your t, thought you may like tank for summer! Thanks so much for your blog, part of my morning routine! Have a relaxing summer !
Andrea says
Thanks Lori — I just checked on this and it looks like I can get the grey color for Michigan 🙂
I ALWAYS get compliments on my t-shirt whenever I wear it — I just wish the baby onesies were a bit cheaper (I can’t justify spending $28 on a onesie)
Lori says
Andrea,
Yes that is high for a onesie, but you could justify if you could use for baby 3 also! Ha!
Lori says
Absolutely kidding!
Andrea says
haha — no need to be kidding. That thought actually crossed my mind too (it’s a gender neutral onesie after all!) However, there is no #3 in the works yet (and hopefully not for a while!)

I don’t usually buy myself a Christmas gift, but I am buying these for my 2 boys who are off at college! Such a great idea!

I saw where the shirt donates to MS. I was just wondering if you have MS. I do and live to find things that help the cause. I will get one just for that.
Andrea says
Jennifer, I don’t personally have MS, but we have a few friends/family members who do. I figured, I like t-shirts a lot, so why not get one that’s kind of unique and also supports a good cause! I hope you enjoy your shirt 🙂

Usually I buy my own gifts if I want one. My hub gets all bound up if he has to find something. I used to get a little sad, before I realized that a) it’s fun; and b) he does a bang-up job in most other areas.
And yes, that’s some saaaaassy hair. Love it.

I have no affection for Michigan, and no affection for any state in particular, but a good t-shirt is a beautiful thing. When I find one, I just want to squeal. Recently, my favorite t-shirt got oil stained, and it’s just not the same anymore. I am heartbroken.

I love that shirt – I’m from CLE, and we have several clothing companies that sell CLE specific clothes and I love them all. I added the Ohio shirt to my wishlist 🙂
I got myself a kitchenaid mixer for Christmas (well, technically it was from my husband, but I found an AMAZING deal the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (better than any deal I saw on black friday), so we bought it, and he wrapped it and gave it to me for Christmas). I’ve wanted one since we were engaged, and now it’s beautifully sitting on my counter!

So cool! My home state Colorado looks so boring, lol. Even though I don’t live there anymore it’s definitely where my heart is. Putting this on my wish list for sure!
The Home T says
You know, Colorado isn’t the most exciting shape, but you know what it looks like, and so do others from the state. And that’s what makes it so cool. It’s like you have your own little club. When others see you wear it… they’ll smile.
Hope you end up getting one in the near future!

So glad you did a post on the shirt! Was size are you wearing? I’m thinking this would be a good little thing to get myself since my husband is always complaining about my t-shirts. Love it!!
Andrea says
I got the Small — but I just followed their sizing chart. The website said the shirts wouldn’t shrink… and as far as I can tell, they don’t!
melanie says
Thanks. I saw their sizing but just wanted to double check. Glad to hear they don’t strink.
Erica says
Pretty cool! Wish they had men’s sizes too though, my husband would love this t-shirt. Also wish they had shirts for all the states…
The Home T says
Erica, the shirts are actually unisex!
Take a look at our sizing page to get a better idea of how they fit, http://www.TheHomeT.com/sizing.
Also, we have many additional states coming out within the week. If you complete this form we will let you know when your state is available, http://www.TheHomeT.com/get-notified.
Hope that helps!

Wellllllll, I don’t know about the shirt, but that is SOME sassy hair. I love it!
Andrea says
haha — thanks Becca!

I noticed that shirt in your other post, probably because I’m originally from Michigan! It sounds like a super-comfy shirt, I just wish they were available in a v-neck style. Maybe in the future?
The Home T says
Maybe at some point in the future, but not in the near future. We started with one state, and have slowly expanded. The tricky thing is the amount of inventory we have to have given there’s so many different designs, and different style shirts multiplies that. Just wanted to share.
Hope you are having a great weekend.

Thank you so much for the kind words about The Home. T! It looks amazing on you – and the little one is adorable
Note: We have around 20 new states launching later next week! If your state isn’t available fill out this short form and we will let you know when you can purchase it, http://www.thehomet.com/get-notified.
Thanks again for such a great review. And yes.. they are insanely soft!
