My Holiday Round-Up!

posted by Andrea | 12/6/2010

It’s less than THREE WEEKS until Christmas Day! Can you believe it??

For the last 3 months, I have been running a “Clutter Free Holiday Countdown” featuring tips, tricks, tools, ideas, and resources to help YOU simplify, organize, de-stress, and de-clutter this busy time of year.

If you haven’t been following along, you can read all my tips here, or you can scroll through the list below to read some of my favorite Clutter-Free Holiday Countdown tips!

1.  Planning Ahead:

I wrote this WAY back on September 17, but it still applies today. It’s not too late to plan ahead for all your parties, gifts, food, etc. In fact, I just finished making a triple batch of our favorite chicken enchiladas and freezing them in several smaller containers. Between moving and all our holiday activities, I know I’ll need several quick meals, and these enchiladas are the perfect thing! {Recipe coming soon!}

2. Holiday Cards:

Are you still searching for the perfect holiday card? Check out some of the simple and creative cards/letters I’ve done in the past. I can’t wait to show you what I’ve got planned for this year!

3. Batch Shopping:

If your holiday schedule looks anything like mine does, you probably have dozens of gifts to buy, a handful of parties to attend, and LOTS of food to make….right? If so, batch shopping will save you valuable time!

Not sure what I mean? Click here to find out!

4. Clutter-Free Gift Wrap Ideas:

It’s about that time to enter that scary bin full of unorganized wrapping supplies! Take some time this year to purge anything you don’t need, use, or love and organize everything else.

Here are a few more simple, yet creative ways to keep your gift wrap organized.

5. Clutter-Free GIFT Ideas:

Looking for the “perfect gift” can drive me crazy! And it’s even worse if I wait until the last minute…can you relate? Make your life a little simpler and get a few gift cards for the loved-ones on your list.

I never liked giving gift cards because I felt they were impersonal and not very thoughtful; however, I soon realized that if I LOVE getting gift cards, the people on my list probably like them too! Gift card are now one of my favorite clutter-free gift ideas!

Here are a few clutter-free gift ideas for kids.

AND a few clutter-free FOOD gifts!

6. Gifts that Give Back:

Speaking of Clutter-Free gifts…here’s a list of MY favorite “gifts that give back”. These gifts are perfect for anyone on your list and are a great way to focus on the real reason for the season.

Read what we did last year to pair tangible holiday gifts with gifts that give back!

7. Holiday Decor:

If you haven’t already, you will probably be doing some kind of decorating over the next few weeks. Take a few extra minutes NOW to declutter and organized you decor and save a bunch of time {and space} later.

8. Giving Thanks:

Obviously, this was written with Thanksgiving in mind but it’s good to read ALL year long!

9. Organized Holiday Receipts:

Whether you’re shopping in stores or on line, you are bound to end up with piles and piles of receipts that you should definitely hang onto until all your gifts are given.

Read how I use these 2 small envelopes to organize all my holiday receipts and seasonal coupons.

10. Simple Holiday Recipes:

Last but certainly not least, here are a few of my FAVORITE holiday recipes — these would all be great gifts or delicious additions to any holiday party!

Love the gift wrap organizing idea. Those bins are really cute. I really need to get my stuff organized…it’s all throw haphazardly into a closet. 🙁 Been on my to do list forever!

Gift cards are one of my favorite things to get, too, because you know it “fits” (as long as it’s from a store I’d shop at). I’ve taken to giving gift cards to people in recent years for the simplicity and the ability for them to pick out exactly what they’d like rather than guessing myself.
