The school year is almost here for Dave (I know there are many schools who have already started) and one thing Dave and I don’t exactly love doing is packing lunches every single day.
However, this year, I’m a little more excited to pack lunches because (thanks to a fun giveaway I did last spring) we have an assortment of reusable AgainBags that we’ll be using in place of hundreds of plastic storage bags.
If you’d like to cut back on your consumption of plastic sandwich and snack bags {and have something FUN for packing lunches this year}, I have the perfect product for you!
AgainBags.com is a company that specializes in hand-made, reusable lunch and snack bags that are lead-free, phthalate-free, BPA-free, AND they come in fabulous colors and patterns…
They also have a brand new Active Wrap set that is absolutely perfect for lunches because the sandwich bag/wrap actually folds out into a “place mat” which I imagine would be nice for sticky, “germy” desks at school or at the office!
These bags are fantastic for sandwiches, wraps, fruits, veggies, cookies, bars, chips, pretzels, crackers, and pretty much any other food you want to carry with you.
I know I’m excited to use the AgainBags this year… and even more excited that they are offering two gift certificates as this weekend’s giveaway!
The Giveaway:
Today, two lucky readers will win a $25 AgainBags gift certificate, good on anything available on the AgainBags’ website.
Also, get 20% off your entire purchase of AgainBags with coupon code: Simple20

I’ve really changed up my kids lunches this year & here is what I have done or will be doing:
* Burritos (leftover rice, chicken, & cheese) or bean & cheese
* Chicken Salad w/ Crackers
* Bagel w/ peanut butter or cream cheese
* Grilled Cheese or Bacon Grilled Cheese
* Chicken Nuggets ( All white meat & bought on sale with coupons or homemade)
* Lunchmeat Sandwich or Wrap ( Only when lunchmeat is on sale or have coupons)
*Pizza ( leftovers cut in bite-size pieces without the crust)
* Peanut Butter & Honey or Jelly
* Hotdog Quesadillas ( sliced hotdogs & cheese between two flour tortilas. Microwave for 30-45 seconds & cut into triangles) w/ketchup in seperate container to dip them in
& More. I also round these meals out with fresh fruit or natural applesauce pouches (bought on sale) veggie sticks or veggie chips, & bottled water. That way they have a balance of what they enjoy & what is also good for them.
I would love to win these pouches. I have three in school right now who I make lunches for every day! Thanks for the opportunity. Mrs.Clark

PB&J and chewy granola bars are my kids favorites in lunch boxes. Goldfish are great to keep in the car for on the run snacks since they don’t get melt in the hot car in the summer.

My go to lunch staple is the sandwich.
These Agian bags look really neat.
Erynn says
These bags seem like a great investment! My favorite go to snack I always keep in my diaper bag is Trader Joe’s mini peanut butter crackers – cheap and a good snack or a filling lunch if needed.
Jen says
My go-to lunch staple is granola bars! My kids love them. They also like it when I pack pretzel sticks, fruit snacks or goldfish crackers. Grape tomatoes are a big hit too! All of these little tiny items take up lots of plastic bags. I’d love to try the Againbags.

My husband’s go-to lunch food would be Trader Joe’s honey wheat pretzel sticks and a jar of peanut butter. He leaves the jar at his desk and just brings in a portion of pretzels sticks each day. He’s a bit of a PB-aholic ๐ We try to cut down on plastic bag use by putting similar items together – all fruits and veggies go in the same bag, all nuts, crackers, pretzels, etc go in the same bag, and I use a reusable container for the sandwich so it doesn’t get squished. I would love a chance to win these reusable bags though and cut down plastic use even more!

Go to lunch staples–turkey or roast beef slices on a lite english muffin with the skinny cow cheese wedges, pretzels, pita chips & hummus, raw veggies to munch on, fresh fruit. Sometimes the tried and true PB & J sandwich!

I don’t have to pack lunches, because at my daughter’s school everyone eats the school lunch…it’s delish! However, I do have two little ones and these bags would be great for keeping snacks in the diaper bag.

I make jello up on Sunday after we get home from church. I line the counter with my reusable cups and fill it up with Jello. Easy to just grab them from the fridge and pop in my lunch bag. I also get a weeks’ worth of pretzel flats all ready to go and then grab one when packing my lunch. The little time it takes to do this saves me a bunch of time each day preparing my lunch.
Very cute reusable bags!!

My boys sometimes get sick of sandwiches for lunch, so I will change it up and pack pasta instead. I will usually make a big batch at the beginning of the week and then pack indiviual amounts each day with the topping they like (marinara, butter, cheese, etc.). There is microwave in the school cafeteria so they can heat it up. I love the reusable bags for all of our lunches. I use them almost everyday and could use some new ones :).
