The school year is almost here for Dave (I know there are many schools who have already started) and one thing Dave and I don’t exactly love doing is packing lunches every single day.
However, this year, I’m a little more excited to pack lunches because (thanks to a fun giveaway I did last spring) we have an assortment of reusable AgainBags that we’ll be using in place of hundreds of plastic storage bags.
If you’d like to cut back on your consumption of plastic sandwich and snack bags {and have something FUN for packing lunches this year}, I have the perfect product for you!
AgainBags.com is a company that specializes in hand-made, reusable lunch and snack bags that are lead-free, phthalate-free, BPA-free, AND they come in fabulous colors and patterns…
They also have a brand new Active Wrap set that is absolutely perfect for lunches because the sandwich bag/wrap actually folds out into a “place mat” which I imagine would be nice for sticky, “germy” desks at school or at the office!
These bags are fantastic for sandwiches, wraps, fruits, veggies, cookies, bars, chips, pretzels, crackers, and pretty much any other food you want to carry with you.
I know I’m excited to use the AgainBags this year… and even more excited that they are offering two gift certificates as this weekend’s giveaway!
The Giveaway:
Today, two lucky readers will win a $25 AgainBags gift certificate, good on anything available on the AgainBags’ website.
Also, get 20% off your entire purchase of AgainBags with coupon code: Simple20

(2) AgainBags gift certificates as described above.
This giveaway ends at 10:00 pm on Monday, 9/27/2012 and is open to US residents, 18 years or older. I will use And the Winner Is to select the winning comments at random. Winners will be notified by email and noted at the top of this post. Winners must respond within 48 hours of notification to claim their prize or I will choose a new winner. Please see my full disclosure policy and contact me with any questions you have. Good luck!

I’ve got a lunch-bag from BUILT, and fill it every day for lunch with leftovers or pre-packaged snacks I put together when I got home from the grocery store. Makes this super simple every weekday morning when I go to pack my lunch! These Again Bags look awesome!

Turkey sandwich is my go-to lunch! I could eat one everyday (except Sat and Sun because that would just not be fun). But when I’m at work, my sandwich and pretzels are always a winner. And popcorn. Because popcorn goes with everything.
Sarah says
I usually stick with pretzels, cheese, and yogurt. I’ve been trying to think of how our family can be more green this fall as both my husband and I are teachers and pack lunches every day. These Again bags are great!
Katherine says
For kiddos, sandwiches, crackers, and fruits. For adults, leftovers or homemade soups (we make big batches and freeze in individual portions).

Leftovers!
Rebecca says
Our kids love leftovers in their lunches if we have any – with a teenage boy in the house, we don’t have leftovers often though. Nuts, fruit, crackers, muffin – I try to balance the somewhat unhealthy with something very healthy. I let them have fruit snacks, but I insist they eat a piece of fruit first, etc.
Sara says
Already a fan of both on FB!
Sara says
For packed school lunches: PBJ (all the way), plus apple wedges, cut up veggies, and some sort of “treat”! ๐ These bags looks super!

These would be so perfect for us. My husband packs his lunch almost every single day, and even if he’s taking leftovers, he likes to take chips or something with him. We also have two young children and it would be awesome to use these for snacks in place of plastic baggies.

My lunch staple is often a salad or sandwich.
Beth says
I already like you on facebook. ๐

I love using leftovers for my lunches, especially soups, pastas and salads.
I’ll have the occasional sandwich but wraps are much more fun to eat and make. Fresh fruit, veggies, and hummus are great sides and there’s always something sweet in my lunch bag, just in case I get a chocolate craving.
Shannon says
I generally take leftovers in glass-ware but I often take snacks (cucumber, crackers, carrots, hummus…) and would love to not keep using plastic bags!
