I would NEVER consider myself a gourmet chef by any means — I make simple meals with simple ingredients… but everything usually tastes good (at least that’s what Dave tells me!) However, even though I don’t cook gourmet meals, it’s still nice to work with gourmet cooking tools — especially if they are designed specifically with the home chef in mind.

Today’s Weekend Giveaway features a gorgeous 6″ Wüsthof Classic Chopper Knife… and let me tell you, I feel like a gourmet chef when I’m using it!

Unlike standard utility knives, Wüsthof’s new Classic 6″ Utility Chopper features a wide blade and reversed scalloped edge that cuts easily without shredding or tearing.     I recently started eating a much more vegetarian diet and I chop a LOT of veggies – lettuce, tomatoes, celery, cucumbers, and bell peppers are probably the most chopped at our house. I just got new cutting boards. A new knife would be great to go with them. 🙂

    We have been making a move toward a more healthy diet and prepping everything from scratch. No canned goods, no pre-packaged foods. For that reason it is even more important to have good and efficient tools. I would likely use this knife to chop up all the fruits and veggies we will likely be eating in the upcoming months.

    I have such a mixed bag of knives in my kitchen. It would be great to have one of real quality. I’m trying to eat more veggies, so I’d probably use it mostly for that. Thanks for the opportunity!

    I’d use it for everything, I have one really good kitchen aid knife I use for everything, this would replace it.

    OHHH! I have just been shopping for a new all-around knife! This looks fabulous! I think I would use it for EVERYTHING but bread would be particularly great!

    These look awesome! I bet the serrated/scalloped edge would be great for tomatoes (my sure-fire test for knives!) Amazing how sharp knives make one feel like a kitchen pro. :o)

    I think it’d be great for chopping up herbs. And it would make quick work of the ingredients for gazpacho and salsa!

    I would use the chopper to prepare meals for my soon-to-be-hubby. I’m getting married next weekend!

    I would use it for dicing celery and onions for so many dishes, but it would also be great for chopping up vegetables for summer gazpacho!

    I love cooking, and I love Wusthof Classic knives – so this would see a ton of action!! I’m thinking potatoes for sure, possibly even bread when I don’t feel like pulling out my larger bread knife (bagels, muffins, etc.)

    I’ve been wanting to buy a chopper knife, so this is very exciting! I’ve been using a standard knife to cut vegetables and it’s terrible. I would use my new chopper knife to chop up veggies!

    I have only had the opportunity to use this knife at a very prestigous restaurant… I would use it to quicken the amount of time it takes to prep meals/dinners with all the knife work. I am a firm believer in making food pretty and this knife would help me dearly! 🙂

    Wow! I love kitchen knives and this would be great to add to my slowly growing collection. I have always wanted a Wusthof, so this giveaway made me very excited. I would probably use this knife for just about everything!

    I’d use my knife for all kinds of kitchen prep. We have a huge garden so we are always chopping!

    I have boughten these as gifts, but never one for myself. I looovvveee to bake, cook and entertain, and this knife would be wonderful for cutting up vegies, etc.
