Yesterday, I shared a few of my favorite things; and today, I get to GIVE AWAY a bunch of my favorite things…
Christmas Cards from Minted.com!!
.
Although I greatly appreciate the fast-paced digital world and the ease of communicating online, there is just something so extra-special and fun about getting cards, letters, or packages delivered to our home.
Dave is a good man and always, ALWAYS lets me open everything (unless it’s specifically addressed to just him)… and yes, even at 31 years old, I still excitedly rip open the mail every day 🙂
Of course, mail time during the holiday season is even more fun since we often get a handful of letters, pictures, and Christmas cards!
We have a special spot to hang any pictures and cards we get this time of year (on the post in the middle of our kitchen) and the kids love looking through the pictures and naming all our friends, neighbors, and relatives on a daily basis.
You might not believe it, but even with my overly-eccentric love of giving and receiving Christmas cards, I had a short period a few weeks ago when I almost talked myself out of sending Christmas cards this year as it just sounded like too much work.
I realize sending a holiday card can seem like just one more thing to add to your to-do list during an already busy time of year (and I know it’s not for everyone) but if you enjoy sending cards, I would encourage you to make the time to do it again this year… I know I’m so glad I ordered ours.
We ordered our cards from Minted.com again this year (we’ve ordered from them many times in the past and are always so happy with the cards.)
It literally took me less than 30 minutes to design my card, and since Minted prints all the recipient addresses on the envelopes for FREE, I saved a bunch of time hand-addressing envelopes!
(I utilized the free printed envelopes in previous years too!)
I’ll share our 2016 family Christmas Card in another couple weeks… but today, I want to give 3 lucky readers a chance to win $100 towards their holiday cards or other fabulous photo gifts from Minted (I’ve already ordered a few photo gifts for the grandparents, and Nora requested that I get her a photo calendar again!)

Thanks for the pep talk Andrea! I really needed it! Haha! I’ve sent out photo cards for the past 7 years and handwritten old fashioned cards for a few years before that. I love correspondence and holiday mail too. So much fun to send out good cheer with a stamp.
This year I’ve been simplifying things a lot and was teetering on the brink of simplifying Christmas cards right out of the equation. We haven’t had any great family photos taken this year, and I really didn’t want to figure out trying to get one at this late date. But I think I’ll try to figure something out. Maybe go for fun candid shots this year and not aim for perfection. People will smile to see real life in a Christmas card don’t you think. ๐
Blessings Dekkers! Jovie sends Nora hugs and hellos! Have a wonderful holiday season.

Well… if you love doing the cards each year, then I would definitely encourage you to do them again this year (even with a non perfect picture). However, if it feels stressful to you, then maybe it’s time to skip a year.
I really enjoy creating and sending out our cards — so I was glad I took a little time to order them again this year!
And yes, I’ll give Nora a hug from her “pen pal” Jovie ๐

I dug through our photo files and found some fun bright, cheery candids and group shots from our recent trip to Hawaii. Gonna try some of them out in a card. I looked around the house and my calendar this morning and realized I’ve actually left myself quite a bit of margin space in the schedule this December. A nice feeling. I’m working on the cards right now. ๐ I’m excited. Maybe Jovie will send one to Nora. *grins*

Is there supposed to be a coupon code for the $25 off? When I click there, it takes me to the same giveaway entry page ๐
So excited about this opportunity–Minted has gorgeous cards!
Andrea says
hmmm… great question. That link was supposed to take you to a page that went into detail about the $25 off promotion. I already sent an email to the company asking for a code. I’ll get back to you soon!

Ugh…please do this post next year before Thanksgiving! I always order ours Thanksgiving weekend and I spent a FORTUNE this year!

sorry ๐ Last year I did this post earlier and then people said it was too early to think about Christmas cards. I guess I can’t please everyone.
That said, at least you got your cards ordered nice and early this year!!

You do such a great job with your blog. I enjoy reading it every morning! I already ordered mine for this year, but this is such a wonderful opportunity you’ve offered to your readers. There may be readers that thought about skipping cards this year because of budget restraints. And who knows, this may be just what they were needing! Thank you for doing what you do. Try not to let negativity get you down. Your blog is full of so many helpful tips and you are a bright light in a dark world. Keep shining!!
