We started our kitchen renovation exactly 3 months ago… and we’re STILL not finished. Our goal was to be completely finished by Labor Day, but that obviously is not the case.
So why on earth are things taking so long?

I’ve mentioned (more than once) that we pay ALL our bills online and don’t get any paper statements. And every time I mention this, I always get questions as to how I keep track of all our different usernames, passwords, and other login information.
Well today, I’m sharing how I do all of that with the free services provided by Manilla.com!
I talk a lot about how we save money by keeping our pantry and freezer stocked with extra meals, snacks, baking supplies, cereal, chips, etc. etc. We have a nice-size pantry area downstairs… and honestly, I’d be lost without it!
However… I personally feel like there’s a point when enough is enough and a stockpile becomes “excessive”. Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on excessive stockpiling.
In my experience, the “4th quarter” is often the time for a big business boom. Kids are back in school and everyone’s looking for the latest and greatest ideas for holiday gifts.
Today I’m sharing 3 simple strategies that have helped me boost 4th quarter sales… and I’d love to know if you have any other ideas.
After 9 months of getting very little sleep, Dave and I are both exhausted. And although we would love to get more sleep, it’s just not an option right now since Nora doesn’t nap and is quite fussy at night.
I know so many people who aren’t able to get a good night’s sleep for a variety of reasons… If you are one of those people, I’m hoping some of my tips might help you as you battle exhaustion.
We haven’t had a traditional kitchen all summer long, which means I haven’t had a stove all summer long.
Thankfully, we have a large electric griddle that I purchased several years ago in a fabulous Black Friday sale. We usie it almost daily — and there have even been days when we make breakfast, lunch, and dinner ALL on our griddle!
Today’s post is just something I was thinking about over the weekend. I was thinking about our new fridge and how it won’t be magnetic… which will be a big bummer since Nora’s newest infatuation is with the magnets on our fridge!
I’d love to know what’s ON your fridge? Is is totally clear, just a few photos, or completely covered?
When we were renovating our bathroom last spring, so many people told us we would regret our decision to go with a custom vanity that had less storage… But after a full year of living with our space, I’m still pleased as punch with how it turned out — and we don’t miss that extra storage space one bit!
If you’d like to see how we keep our bathroom organized {most days!}… keep reading.

At our old house, we had a really awkward back entryway with 3 doors that all opened into each other. I hated it!
So the other day, when my friend Leslie sent me a before and after picture of her crowded entryway, I immediately asked her if I could share the pictures on my blog. The makeover is fabulous and she did it ALL by herself!

For the most part, I would not consider Dave and I to be big “splurgers”. We save much more than we spend and we can almost always talk ourselves out of buying something — especially if it isn’t really necessary.
I certainly don’t think our frugal nature is a bad thing; however, I also don’t think that occasional splurges are a bad thing. In fact, I think splurging is a healthy habit everyone should do from time to time!
Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato Sandwiches are one of my favorite summer lunches… and Dave likes anything with bacon so he’s usually game for a crunchy BLT at least once a week.
However, if you’ve never tried your BLT with peanut butter, you’ll want to keep reading. I’m sharing my favorite way to prepare this delicious sandwich!
I’m sure at some point, we’ve all thumbed through home decore magazines and wished our homes looked even half as lovely as the stunning homes in those photographs. Or maybe I’m the only one?
If you’ve ever felt disheartened by your home’s lack of “perfection”, I’ve got a real-life story that might just cheer you up!
I know you might not want to accept it, but the school year is right around the corner… which means it’s time to get a few things in order so your year (and your kid’s year) starts off on the right foot. Instead of reinventing the wheel, I thought I’d take a minute to compile some of the helpful back-to-school and Fall organizing tips I already have on my blog {all in one convenient location, just for you!}
Happy “back-to-school” organizing!
I read a lot of blog posts every week… I follow some of these blogs on Facebook or Twitter, I subscribe to some via email, and I have my phone set up so I can quickly and easily access my favorite blogs whenever I have a free minute or two.
Today, I’m sharing 11 of my favorite blogs, and I’d love it if you’d share a few of your favorite blogs with me!

Over a year ago, I created a Daily Planner template for me to personally organize my day-to-day life. It was exactly what I needed, so I shared it with all of you several months ago.
After many requests to offer a customizable version of my Daily Planner, I FINALLY decided to do it! So today, I’m sharing my new, customizable Daily Planner. Hope you love it as much as I do!
