There is no one-size-fits-all approach to getting organized, boosting productivity, or increasing vegetable intake – and that’s OK!

I hope today’s post will encourage you to simply start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can!

Oh the gloriousness of a fresh new year… a blank slate! So many goals, resolutions, and aspirations… so many things we want to change.

However, before we get too carried away making all sorts of changes and “improvements”, I’d like to encourage you to stop and note at least 5 things you are currently very content with.

After 2 weeks of making excuses after excuses for a ridiculously simple task, I finally put my foot down and decided to make it a priority over everything else on my to-do list.

If you are currently making excuses for a certain goal in your life, I hope today’s post will motivate you to put your foot down and start working towards your goal today!

If It Won’t Matter in 5 Years…

Several years ago, I heard a simple little phrase that has completely changed how I look at issues or problems that arise in my life.

It might be slightly naive, but it’s one of those phrases that has really stuck with me over the years, and has actually helped me to simplify so many areas of my own life.

My “Someday Daydreams”!

Today is my 32nd birthday! And as I get older, I find myself daydreaming about all the things I might potentially do “someday” when I have a little bit more free time.

I realize they might not all happen, but I’m sharing a bunch of MY daydreams in a light-hearted post today!

6 Ways I Simplify My Life

For me (and for the rest of our family) having a simplified home environment goes a long way in simplifying our lives — however it’s not the ONLY factor.

I’ve taken many steps to simplify and streamline my life as much as I possibly can, and (along with keeping our home environment relatively simple) there are a few concrete things I do in order to simplify. I’m sharing those today!

10 Things I DON’T Do

posted by Andrea | 02/5/2016 | 47 comments

The purpose of my blog is to share what I DO do. Because of this, I get many emails from people saying “I don’t know how you do everything you do.” However, what they often fail to consider are ALLLLLLLL the things I DON’T do.

Today, I’m sharing 10 of those “DON’Ts”

Over the past several years, one of the MOST common complaints I hear from others is, “it’s just so overwhelming… I don’t know where to start.” Can you relate?

I know I can certainly relate to feeling totally overwhelmed when certain projects are hanging over my head — so today, I’m sharing 3 really simple tips that will hopefully help you to finally tackle those projects that seem so overwhelming!

A New Year, A Fresh Start, and A Fun Opportunity

We’re just weeks away from another new year — a fresh start, a new beginning. And while I definitely don’t want to rush through the holiday season, I can’t help but be excited to flip over my calendar on January 1.

If you share my enthusiasm, yet feel like you’ve been struggling to “really live” your best and most fulfilling life, today’s post might be just what you need to get excited about another new year.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

A few weeks ago, I blogged about our super overwhelming yard project. After that post went live, several people commented that my “any progress is still progress” philosophy could actually be applied to almost anything in life. And I totally agree!

Do you have any overwhelming projects on your to-do list? If so, I hope this post will be the motivation you need to get started.

Simple Ways to Decorate With Photos

I’ve been trying REALLY hard to take lots of photos these days. However, I often get annoyed with myself for taking so many pictures… but then keeping them “locked up” in my camera, my phone, or on our portable hard drive.

So I’ve been making an effort to print more pictures lately, and since photos are relatively inexpensive {compare to pricey art pieces} I thought I would share a few different ideas for decorating your home with photos.

I’ll be sharing more photos, ideas, and details in the months leading up to our renovation… but right now, we’re still in the “dreaming” stage and trying to decide what we want to incorporate into our new kitchen. Here are a few pictures of what my dream kitchen might look like!

An Update on My Ideas Book

posted by Andrea | 10/17/2011 | 9 comments

It’s been almost a year since I first blogged about my Ideas Book. And ever since then, I still get a couple emails or comments each week asking about my Ideas Book, what I put in the Ideas Book, how I organize my Ideas Book, etc. etc. I even get comments on other posts referencing my Ideas Book!

So, I figured it was time I revisited this topic… especially since I’ve significantly updated the way I keep track of all my ideas!!

Our Reclaimed Barn Wood Floors

Dave, my dad, and I have been working hard to finish “round one” of our renovation projects before Dave starts school and before our two international students arrive {in about 3 weeks!} And one of the main projects we HAD to finish was our new hardwood floors — but they aren’t just any hardwood floors; they are reclaimed barn wood — which basically means the wood we used for our floors was taken out of old barns and milled down […]

However, if you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you might have noticed that I never really talked about our old house. It was a great house for us and we managed to fix it up quite nicely — but it was NOT our dream house…so I guess I never felt the desire to talk about […]
