The mudroom is officially finished and we couldn’t be happier! We have plenty of storage for all our seasonal gear and lots of room to grow.
Come take the full tour!

When we purchased our home 3.5 years ago, we figured the kitchen would be one of the last projects we tackled — but as many of you know, our plans changed!
We renovated our kitchen 2 summers ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long already) and today, I’m sharing some answers to commonly asked questions I get regarding our massive renovation.

For those of you who follow me on Facebook, you probably saw that we FINALLY put the finishing touches on our new deck this past weekend… and today, I’m sharing ALL the before and after photos!
It’s a pretty amazing transformation, and I still can’t get over how much more use we’re getting out of our back yard because of it!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve shared bits and pieces of the progress we’re making in our new mudroom — but today, I’m sharing a lot more details, photos, plans, etc. Aren’t you excited? 🙂
Right now, we’re waiting for the drywall guy to come and “mud” the seams — then it’s ready for us to paint, trim, and lay new floors!

Our brand new double stroller was delivered just over a month ago — yes, you read that right — BRAND NEW!
Aside from diapers, wipes, and other “perishable” items, I think this double stroller was the very first baby thing I’ve ever personally purchased brand new — and today, I’m sharing a bunch of reasons why we’re loving our new stroller!

Dave and I usually wait until school is over to start our house/yard projects for the year — but this year, even with a new baby, we were BOTH itching to get started.
Since it’s a long holiday weekend (and I have a feeling many of you are joining Dave and I in some sort of home or yard project) I figured it would be a good time to share an update on all our latest projects.

For the most part, when it comes to changing diapers, Dave and I change them on the changing table in the nursery. I would say 98% of the diapers I’ve ever changed in our house have been on the changing table.
However, since we’ve been using the upstairs more, I created a portable diaper-changing basket that ‘lives’ upstairs. This simple 5-minute project has saved me countless trips up and down stairs these past few months!

As some of you might remember, Dave and I spent a lot of time outside last summer — and not for relaxation purposes. On and off from May through August, we had various yard projects going on around our house.
We have a BUNCH more landscaping projects to tackle this summer — and I’m sharing them all in today’s post!

As I planned ahead for the arrival of baby Simon, I thought it might be fun to resurrect some of MY favorite posts from the past 3.5 years of blogging.
Today, I’m sharing some of MY favorite farmhouse posts — all about our home renovations, landscape design, and my sheer love for all things farmhouse!

Over the last few years of sharing pictures of our home and yard, I’ve received many emails from readers asking how we organize all the extra spaces we currently aren’t using on a daily basis — and not just let them get all cluttered up with junk.
So today, I’m sharing some tips that have been helpful for us as we’ve tried to live simply despite our extra space.

As many of you probably already know, clothes clutter is a HUGE issue for so many of us.
So since we’re still in the first month of a New Year — and since winter is a great time to stay inside purging your closets — I thought I’d answer a few of the questions I get regarding my own clothes clutter and share a bit more about the process I went through to get to this point.

Now that my brain has finally registered that 2014 is here (and after noticing that the expiration date on my yogurt was only 2 weeks before my due date) I decided that it was time to make my “To-Do Before Baby” list.
And since several of you have asked what my “must do” items are before this baby arrives, I figured that sharing the list would not only answer those questions, but also hold me more accountable!

A couple weeks ago, I shared my answers to the question, “How Can I Stay Organized?” — and today, I’m sharing my thoughts on another question I get quite regularly: “Should I Hire a Professional Organizer?”
And even if you’re not interested in hiring an organizer, I’ve included several links to posts I’ve written about how I organize different spaces in our home — so there should be something for everyone in this post!

Would you believe that EVERY couch, sofa, love seat and (almost every) chair we’ve ever owned since being married has been slip covered? I LOVE slipcovers!
And based on the number of questions I get on a weekly basis about our couch, our chairs, what type of slipcovers we would recommend, etc… I figured it might be time for an in-depth slipcover chat!

Although Nora is almost 2 years old, we really have not amassed many traditional toys at all. And while Nora loves playing with her real toys, sometimes I think she loves her “non-toy toys” even more.
Today, I’m sharing more than 75 of our favorite non-toy toys that help us save a bunch of money and keep toy clutter at bay in our home.
