Several months ago, when I posted my 6-month blogging goals, I made a few goals for the next 6 months {both for my blog and my business}… so I figure it’s time to see if I achieved those goals or not!
GOAL #1 = to triple my facebook fans, Twitter followers, and subscribers.
6 months: Facebook = 675; Twitter = 650; Subscribers = 600
13 months: Facebook = 3300; Twitter = 1300; Subscribers = 2100
So, I hit my goals for Facebook and Subscribers, but not quite for Twitter.
GOAL #2 = to quadruple my Average Monthly Unique Visitors and Average Monthly Pageviews
6 months: Unique Visitors = 10,000/mo.; Pageviews = 35,000/mo.
13 months: Unique Visitors = 91,000/mo.; Pageviews = 199,000/mo.
** I’ve had over A MILLION pageviews in the last 13 months — crazy stuff!
Thanks to so many of you who have shared my blog with your family and friends and who link to me via your own blogs. I am simply thrilled that so many people are stopping in!
GOAL #3 = To use this website as a platform to grow my organizing and virtual assistant business.
I don’t have a great way to show you that this goal was met, but I CAN tell you that I recived more new clients, more jobs, more speaking engagement, and more income so far in 2011 than I did in ALL of 2008, 2009, and 2010 combined!
Obviously, part of that is word of mouth advertising and the fact that after a few years, my services are more well known in my area. But I’m certain that the main reason is because I actually “got online” 13 months ago and started networking — who would have thought 🙂
GOAL #4 = To meet lots of amazing new people & participate in new experiences.
Again, I don’t have a tangible way to prove that I met this goal, but here are just a FEW of the many, many amazing people I have met and experiences I’ve had these past few months.
1. I joined the West Michigan Bloggers group — which is an amazing group of local bloggers who get together almost every month to discuss blogging strategies, money-making opportunities, trials, successes, and just have an over-all great time together!
2. I was asked to be a Hoover Insider and attended an awesome convention in Chicago — I can’t tell you how many amazing relationships and opportunities have come from this!
3. I met Mandi from Life…Your Way and became her Site Editor {and let me tell you, she is one connected lady!} I also got to work with all her other amazing contributors!
4. I was asked to become a monthly contributor for Plan to Eat and AboutOne; and I have another company who I just signed a contract with.
5. I attended and spoke for the Gleek Retreat blogging conference and met a whole bunch of awesome regional bloggers
6. I met Tara from Deal Seeking Mom and became her Executive Virtual Assistant
7. I’ve featured over 60 amazing giveaways and multiple guests posts.
8. I was recently contacted by a publisher who offered me a book contract — however, I’m not quite ready to dive into that just yet 🙂
I know I’m missing a bunch of people and experiences, but those are just a few that immediately came to mind.
GOAL #5 = To launch a re-design of my website with lots of new features.
I just did this last weekend — thanks to a bunch of help from the amazing team of web designers over at Agathon Group!
Needless to say, it’s been a very fun year and I can’t wait to see what the next 13 months will bring!

I am always setting goals for myself and don’t shy away from making my list long or the goals on it too grand. I do find, however, that it’s easy to become overwhelmed if I don’t allow myself all the help available to me. I use an online tool to help with every stage of every goal. Before I found it I would achieve maybe 20% of the goals I set and now I would say that’s more like 85%. That’s a pretty good success rate considering the size of some of the goals I set.
