It’s officially been 6 months since my last Peek Into Our Week post… I’m due for an update!
Today I’m sharing several recent mini house/organizing projects, our menu from last week, updates on the kids, and cute Clara pictures ๐

I’m often asked if there are certain things I do on a regular basis that are little “treats” for myself — something to pamper myself or something to look forward to after the kids are in bed.
I suspect my answers are not what you’d expect, but… there are definitely 3 really simple (frugal) self-care rituals I do every single day that make a world of difference for me!

I am SO hoping this will be the last Week In Review post I write for a while as I said I would write them until the baby arrives… I figure she HAS to arrive before the end of NEXT week!
Honestly, though, I feel like I’m living in “the calm before the storm”… and I’m doing my best to just enjoy it instead of feeling anxious for the baby to arrive!ย

I’m still here… the baby is still NOT here ๐ All is well though, and I’m really not anxious for her to arrive sooner than she’s ready. I know labor and delivery will be so much easier when everyone is truly ready!
I hope to have some exciting baby news to share with you all soon… but in the meantime, here’s what I blogged about this week in previous years.

Although we only have a few weeks of Summer Vacation for Dave and Nora (and essentially for me too!) we have several things on our mental “summer to-do list” yet.
I’m sharing some of those, along with a bunch of pictures, and what I blogged about this week in previous years on this week’s Week In Review Post!

I know it might seem weird to do a post about inside toys in the middle of the summer, but here in West Michigan, it can get REALLY hot and humid in the summers, so we often play outside in the morning and inside in the afternoon, where the air conditioning keeps things very pleasant!
The toys listed in today’s post are things ALL 3 of our kids (ages 5, 3, 2) play with and enjoy almost every single day!

I’m often asked for good money-saving tips, so I thought I’d share 2 of the simplest ways we save on kids clothing. They don’t involve scouring garage sales, using coupons, or reselling things at consignment stores — they are both much easier than all of that!
I know my ideas and tips won’t work for every family… but they’ve been working really well for us for the past 6 years!

This time of year, I often get questions regarding how we store and organize all our outdoor gear — hand tools, lawn tools, toys, lawn furniture, kiddie pools, play equipment, mowers, fertilizers, hoses, etc. etc.
Although our storage and organizational needs are always changing, we do have A LOT of outdoor gear, and today I’m sharing how we organize it all!

Although it has been challenging for me to find my groove again after coming back from vacation, I’m feeling more productive, more efficient, and more “normal” again after a couple weeks at home.
I tried a few new recipes last week, read a bunch of books, and found a some fun goodies on Amazon — I’m sharing all of that, and more, in today’s post!

Over the last 10+ years, I have used many different pots and pans, and I think I’ve finally figured out what I want/need from my pans, as well as a handful of features I really dislike.
For those of you who share my enthusiasm for random product reviews (good and bad), I thought it might be helpful if I shared a few things I dislike about various pots and pans. I’d love it if you shared more in the comments!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve set self-imposed deadlines for myself and my life — everything from school work and piano lessons as a child to blog work and home maintenance as an adult.
I do realize that self-imposed deadlines might not work perfectly for every personality type… but they sure do have a HUGELY positive impact on my own life… and today, I’m sharing a few reasons why.

For me, “homemaking” in 2017 looks quite a bit different than it did years ago… and while I probably wouldn’t ever introduce myself as “Andrea Dekker, a homemaker” I’m also not ashamed to consider “homemaking” as a large and important part of what I do every day.
After reading this post, I still don’t expect you to love it as much as I do — but maybe you won’t hate it!

I’ve always been a huge fan of food gifts — both giving and receiving! However, over the past few years, I’ve had so many situations where the family I want to give a food gift to has food sensitivities or food allergies.
Because of this, I came up with 2 or 3 simple go-to meals I could make when people have some of the more common food sensitivities. I’m sharing the recipes today — and I’d love a few more ideas to add to my list!
