As I mentioned several weeks ago, we decided to send out Thanksgiving cards this year. We have so much to be thankful for — it just seemed fitting.
Happy Thanksgiving friends!

In an effort to jump-start the generous spirit of the holiday season, I thought I’d share some of my thoughts about holiday giving along with a few ideas we can all give back this season.
I’d also love to hear some of your favorite ways to give back — both during the holiday season and all year long.

A couple weeks ago, I shared my answers to the question, “How Can I Stay Organized?” — and today, I’m sharing my thoughts on another question I get quite regularly: “Should I Hire a Professional Organizer?”
And even if you’re not interested in hiring an organizer, I’ve included several links to posts I’ve written about how I organize different spaces in our home — so there should be something for everyone in this post!

Recently, I feel social media has gotten a bad rap for being a “time suck” and causing unrealistic expectations. I get this; however, I don’t think social media is always to blame for all of that, and I personally feel the benefits of social media far outweigh any negative aspects.
Today, I’m sharing a few ways I have personally benefited from social media — and I’d love to hear your thoughts too!
As a little girl, I frequently dreamt about the day I would have my very own home to decorate. And when Dave and I got married, I blissfully decorated our home for Christmas every year… I loved the whole process!
This year, however, I’m planning to keep things a little more simplified and am scaling back on our holiday decorations in lieu of other projects and leisure activities.

As you probably know by now, I’m a big fan of saving money whenever I can, using coupons, finding great deals, etc. etc. — and that philosophy transfers over to my gift giving as well… but only to a point.
I personally think there is a distinct difference between giving frugal gifts and cheap gifts — and today’s post is based on this topic and a few recent emails I’ve received on this topic.

Now that it’s officially October, I find myself frequently thinking about Christmas gift ideas. Two gifts I’ve ALWAYS been an advocate for are clutter-free gifts and educational gifts — especially when it comes to gifts for kids.
Today I’m sharing a really fun educational gift Dave’s mom made for Nora — it would make a fabulous Christmas, birthday, or “just because” gift for any lucky child on your gift list!

Before I had Nora, I was literally busy busy busy from the moment I woke up until the moment I went to bed. And not just busy shopping or other leisurely activities.
After Nora was born, the realization that I just couldn’t do everything I had been doing before was extremely difficult for me. Although I was willingly giving lots of time and energy to my family, I felt like a failure in pretty much every other area of life.

If you’ve never tasted home-canned foods, you don’t know what you are missing. However, unless you intend to start canning, I wouldn’t recommend trying home-canned food… because once you do, it will be REALLY hard to go back to the store bought stuff 🙂
Today, I’m sharing a few reasons why I love canning jam — as well as a bunch of helpful jam-making tips and resources.

For those of you who don’t understand Nora talk, the title of this post should read “Our Vacation at the Cottage”. We spent all of last week lounging and lazing around at a cottage on Lake Michigan with Dave’s immediate family — it was glorious!
Now we’re back to laundry, and cooking, and yard work, and grocery shopping — but we feel refreshed after a lovely week away from our routine (and I’m sharing pictures today!)

I love dishes! And over the last few years, I’ve received numerous emails with questions about our dishes, serving pieces, tablecloths, etc. and how I store all these items in our kitchen.
I figured it was probably time to share my dishes… and serving pieces, and tablecloths, and napkins with you — or at least share how I store and organize these items!
We live in a 120 year old farmhouse — and as we work our way through different renovation projects, we often wonder what memories and stories are “locked away” inside the walls of our house. If only walls could talk… right!
Spurred by a recent visit of our home’s previous owners, I’ve been thinking about this a lot. Today, I’m sharing some of those thoughts.

I’m over-the-moon-excited to share today’s post with you — not necessarily because it’s such an amazing project or earth-shattering before and after pictures. No, I’m excited to share this with you because it’s a project I’ve wanted to cross off my list since early November!
Hooray for one more thing FINALLY crossed off my to-do list!

While we don’t have a lifetime full of money-mastering tips, Dave and I have learned a lot about finances from our parents, from my 6 years of business experience, and from other more experienced individuals.
So today, I’m sharing two of the MOST helpful (and extremely doable) pieces of financial advice Dave and I have received throughout the years.

Over the past two years, the way I shop has changed significantly – I now do almost everything online.
Today (by request) I’m sharing my five favorite online shopping sites — so for those of you who hate shopping (like me) or just live too far away from a convenient shopping location, this post is for you!
