Our summer has been FULL of people and activities… but at the same time, it has felt SLOW in the best possible way.
As I explain in today’s post, I feel like “slow and full” perfectly describes our family’s summer of 2016.

Earlier this spring, I transplanted a bunch of white lilies from my Great-Grandparents’ dairy farm… and while it might sound a bit crazy, the lilies got me thinking about different seasons of my life when I have had very little time for myself.
If you are currently in a season of life with no time for yourself, I hope this post offers some encouragement… you definitely are NOT alone!

I absolutely HATE wasting food (especially food I grew or picked myself) so I have a pretty good system for utilizing the extra fruits and veggies in ways that don’t require us to eat the same things over and over again.
Today I’m sharing some of my ideas — I’d love if you chimed in with your ideas too!

A couple months ago, the kids and I stumbled across a popsicle mold at the dollar store and I quickly snatched it up, promising homemade popsicles for a snack later that day.
Since then, we have enjoyed homemade juice pops as an afternoon snack on a VERY regular basis! They taste great on a hot summer day and take roughly 10 seconds to make!!

I’m often asked about my “decorating style”… and the truth is, I’m not exactly sure what my style really is — or even if I have an actual “style”. I just know what I like when I see it.
That said, today, I’m sharing 2 of MY favorite ways to add a little farmhouse feel to my home… chicken wire and chippy paint!

Anyone who has ever gone anywhere with a young child has most likely heard the phrase, “enjoy every moment — it goes so fast” uttered from the lips of well-meaning friends, relatives, or complete strangers.
Since it’s not actually possible to enjoy EVERY moment of life… I’m sharing how striving for ONE enjoyable moment has helped me realize how much of my life I actually DO enjoy — and alleviate so much guilt for those times when I do get frustrated, annoyed, angry, or stressed.

For those of you who spend time with young children, those of you who aren’t necessarily super creative or crafty, and those of you who have no idea what you’re going to do now that the kids are home ALL DAY LONG, here are a few things we do to stay busy…
You’ll notice that most of these activities require little to no creativity, little to no monetary cost, little to no set-up, and little to no clean-up! Win, Win, Win, Win!
