An Updated Tour of our Farmhouse

posted by Andrea | 10/23/2017 | 19 comments

It’s been 3 years since my first farmhouse tour post; and as many of you know, we’ve made LOTS of changes and updates in the last 3 years!

So today, I’m sharing an updated tour… welcome to our farmhouse!

A New Nursery for Our New Little Miss

I’ve been waiting (not so patiently) to share Clara’s mini nursery makeover on the blog… and today’s the day!

I’m thrilled with how this room turned out — especially since I only had to buy 2 things to pull it off! Everything else was reused or repurposed from somewhere else in our house!

What We Decided For The Landing Area!

posted by Andrea | 08/21/2017 | 29 comments

I’m back with the finished landing area — and I’m so happy with how it turned out!

There’s a good chance this space will continue to change and evolve over the next several years… but I honestly think this mini makeover fits our family’s needs perfectly right now!

What Should We Do In Our Former Playroom?

posted by Andrea | 08/7/2017 | 42 comments

Now that we’ve finished renovating all our kids’ bedrooms, we are left with a completely empty “playroom”. Dave and I are both lacking inspiration… but we’d love to do something fun (and frugal) in this space.

I know there are so many ideas we just aren’t thinking of, so I’d love it if you helped us out a bit and shared YOUR ideas!

The Boys’ $5 Shared Bedroom Makeover

posted by Andrea | 07/28/2017 | 29 comments

Simon and James have officially been sharing a bedroom for almost a month now — and it’s going really well.

Today I’m sharing a tour of their “new” bedroom — and I’m extra excited because I made this transformation happen for less than $5!! Everything in this room was either repainted, repurposed from something we already had in the house, or simply rearranged — and I honestly feel like the room looks and feels so different.

A Tour of Nora’s New Bedroom

Yay — I’m so excited to finally share the full tour of Nora’s brand new bedroom!!

This room was a labor of love. It was such a huge project that started with a complete gut job — new electrical, new insulation, new drywall, new doors and windows, new… EVERYTHING!

Nora and Simon’s Mini Bedroom Makeovers

posted by Andrea | 08/18/2016 | 8 comments

Both Nora and Simon’s bedrooms are upstairs — right off the playroom. We keep most of the toys in the playroom, but it’s nice to be able spread out into their bedrooms for more playtime fun.

Dave and I both thought it would be nice to create more floor space in their bedrooms… and thanks to an hour of moving furniture around (and out of) their rooms, we now have LOTS of extra room to play!

Our Mini Nursery Makeover

Last week, I shared our COMPLETELY FREE master bedroom mini makeover and this week, I’m sharing James’ mini nursery makeover.

Just like our bedroom makeover, it was also completely free, and it made his tiny room feel SO much bigger!

A Master Bedroom “Makeover” (for FREE!)

Dave recently helped me move almost ALL the bedroom furniture in our entire house… which means all 4 bedrooms got a mini makeover without spending a dime!

Today, I’m so excited to share our (completely free) Master Bedroom Mini Makeover!

Our Landscape Before and After {2015}

After 3 years of hard work, our landscaping is 95% complete!

We still have a few projects to tackle yet this fall or next spring — but I’m excited to finally be able to share a bunch of before and after photos on the blog!

Our Home Office (The Updated Tour)

posted by Andrea | 01/16/2015 | 28 comments

It’s been over 3 years since I last shared any update on our home office renovations… and we’ve made a fair amount of changes over those 3 years. So, I figured it was time for another Home Office Tour.

I can’t wait for you to see the transformation!!

I’m SOOOOO excited to share today’s post with you — probably even more excited than I was to share the giveaways these past two days!

That’s right friends, it’s time for another Farmhouse Nursery Tour — baby boy style!

Nora’s New Big Girl Room

posted by Andrea | 01/16/2014 | 67 comments

After months of dragging my heals, I finally finished Nora’s new bedroom upstairs!

And even though we’re still waiting for Nora to warm up to the idea of sleeping in her new room, I’m thrilled that MY part of the process is finished and I can finally share the “after” pictures with you.

Our New Play Room

posted by Andrea | 12/11/2013 | 31 comments

When we first purchased our home, one of the areas I was most excited about was the large landing area at the top of the stairs. And since we’re in the process of renovating Nora’s new “big-girl bedroom” upstairs, we decided that it was also a good time to transform this landing area into the playroom we envisioned when we first moved in.

After a little paint, carpeting, and a bunch of toys, this is what we ended up with!

Our Filing Cabinet Downsize, Upgrade, and Makeover

posted by Andrea | 12/9/2013 | 23 comments

Over the past few years, I’ve been on a mission to use and store less paper.

So I’m supper happy to announce that we recently switched from a MASSIVE 4 drawer, big, bulky filing cabinet to a much smaller, shallower, 2-drawer filing cabinet… with room to spare!

Super Fast Wood Furniture Restoration

Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about painting — specifically painting and distressing furniture to give it a whole new look.

However, I realize painting and distressing isn’t for everyone… so today, I’m sharing one of the all-time most simple ways I’ve come across to breathe a little new life into old, grungy wood furniture!
