Over the past 6 years of sharing various home renovations, I have been asked SO many questions about Dave and my bathroom, and (more specifically) why we didn’t re-work our plans to create a true en suite with the master bath directly off our master bedroom.
Today, I’m sharing the main reasons we chose to keep our bathroom separate from our bedroom.
Exactly 2 months ago, I shared our progress on the kids’ bathroom upstairs… and although we finished this mini renovation well before James arrived, I’m finally getting around to sharing the before and after pictures now.
I don’t want to blow the surprise, but I will say that it’s much less “neon” now 🙂
No, we’re not completely finished with everything on our “summer to-do list” but we have been making REALLY good progress over the past 10-12 weeks!
Although I can’t share all the official “after” photos just yet (because we’re not quite finished) I CAN share a whole bunch of “progress” photos so we can celebrate how far we’ve come in only a few weeks!
No, no baby yet… but at this point, a new bathtub is almost as big of an announcement for us!
After 4.5 years of living in our 3-bathroom house, we finally have a “real bathtub” for our kiddos to splash around in… and yes, they totally love it!
The last 2 weeks have been a crazy whirlwind of hustle and bustle around the Dekker house as we have officially kicked off our 2015 “project season”.
It’s a bit earlier than we normally start working on projects, but with a new baby due around the end of June / early July, we felt the need to start early. Today, I’m sharing our plans (and some of our progress)!
Over the years, SO many of you have asked for a full tour of our farmhouse — so since we’re well over half way through renovating our house and yard, I thought now would be a good time to give you a tour!
Welcome to our farmhouse… established: 1890.
The mudroom is officially finished and we couldn’t be happier! We have plenty of storage for all our seasonal gear and lots of room to grow.
Come take the full tour!
For those of you who follow me on Facebook, you probably saw that we FINALLY put the finishing touches on our new deck this past weekend… and today, I’m sharing ALL the before and after photos!
It’s a pretty amazing transformation, and I still can’t get over how much more use we’re getting out of our back yard because of it!
We started working on our new Trex deck last week Friday… and as of today, we’re ALMOST finished!
I can’t show you the official before and after pictures yet as we’re not finished, but I will share some of the “progress” photos as well as a little more information about our old deck demo + the new deck installation.
Last week, I shared some of the progress (and the plans) for our mudroom project. We still have several things to cross of our “mudroom to-do list”, but we’re already gearing up for our 2nd project of the summer… a new deck!
Or maybe I should say, “replacing our old, tiny, unusable deck with a brand new, much larger deck”. I’m sharing those plans today!
Over the past few weeks, I’ve shared bits and pieces of the progress we’re making in our new mudroom — but today, I’m sharing a lot more details, photos, plans, etc. Aren’t you excited? 🙂
Right now, we’re waiting for the drywall guy to come and “mud” the seams — then it’s ready for us to paint, trim, and lay new floors!
As I planned ahead for the arrival of baby Simon, I thought it might be fun to resurrect some of MY favorite posts from the past 3.5 years of blogging.
Today, I’m sharing some of MY favorite farmhouse posts — all about our home renovations, landscape design, and my sheer love for all things farmhouse!
After months of dragging my heals, I finally finished Nora’s new bedroom upstairs!
And even though we’re still waiting for Nora to warm up to the idea of sleeping in her new room, I’m thrilled that MY part of the process is finished and I can finally share the “after” pictures with you.
With our family expanding in a few months, we decided it was also time to “expand” our living area. So we’re in the middle of a bunch of renovations upstairs.
Today I’m sharing a bunch of before pictures, a few progress pictures, and some of my ideas for the finished rooms!
We’ve been finished with yard work for the summer for several weeks already — but I’ve had a difficult time trying to accurately photograph the “after” pictures. It’s so hard when the plants and trees are still small!
I’m sure I’ll be sharing more pictures next summer — but for now, I’m excited to share our official 2013 landscaping before and after shots!
After showing pictures of our new garage makeover last week, I got an insane number of questions about the garage floor coating. I totally understand why — Dave and I are thrilled with the results. So I decided to send your questions directly to the Monkey Bar expert.
Today’s post has their answers mixed with my comments and photos — and seriously, this floor is amazing!
I’ve been waiting SO long to share our kitchen before and after pictures with you — and I know you’ve been patiently waiting for the after pictures as well.
Last week, our butcher block island counter arrived — which was the last thing we were waiting for. So the kitchen is officially finished! Come take a look!
If you’ve ever wondered what the inside of my kitchen cabinets looks like, then today is your lucky day.
I’m opening up my kitchen and showing you inside every single one of my kitchen cabinets!
News flash: Our new kitchen cabinets arrived (in the right color this time) and they are installed!! Praise the Lord!
We still have a ways to go, but just for the fun of it, I’m sharing a couple sneak-peek pictures today!
